This is a beautiful historic hotel on the main square. Very conveniently located. The service staff cleaning rooms, room service, waiting & busing tables, taking care of the breakfast buffet, fresh tacos, fresh eggs, omelets, pancakes were all absolutely delightful people, friendly and welcoming. That's where the excellent ends... the front desk reception staff were NOT welcoming or inviting very snotty & rude. The manager was in the lobby most of the time just ignoring guests, our remotes didn't work and our key stopped working after 12pm our second day. Each time we came to the desk the staff was very annoyed having to help and NEVER once apologized for our inconvenience. The listing says heated pool but it is not. I guess it's to much for management to greet and show their appreciation for your business. I've worked in hotels and travel retiring after a 45 year career. I would never have passed a customer without greeting them. They send messages through the message system but do not respond to yours either.

Courteous staff and check in was very easy. As lead traveller on the booking I ended up with a view of the air conditioning and that was a bit of a disappointment especially given I am supposedly a Gold member. The room itself was well proportioned, a huge and comfortable bed and the walk in shower was also a high standard. I ordered laundry service and that was expensive but also very prompt. It’s a combination of very old meets very new. The public spaces are well appointed and was even treated to a tenor and accompanying piano. Stained glass windows along with the original features endears you to this conveniently situated hotel. Would I go back….absolutely yes.

No reason to not return. It was a great place lot of culture in the building, amenities , staff. Walking distance to the zocolo. Warning, if you plan on eating the local foods out and about, dont have the breakfast included. The breakfast is very good and a meal that will last the entire day. The shop sells incredible arts to treasuer. Beautiful jewlery and other art items. I understand the owner is the artist. Only negative is the bed and pillows are hard as rock. Great choice

The location is very good, the rooms are large and the AC works but
