"Excellent view, and stunning pool"
The place is nice, but like previous reviews, the beds are rock hard. The view is great on the deck looking at the ocean and the pool was very cool. The continental breakfast costs money, not free.

"Pleasant Surpise"
Spent a week with my wife, no kids. We are in our 50s and from the Denver area. The staff was unfailingly pleasant and helpful. Nearly all of them speak English. The food and drinks were consistently very good to excellent. We got there a month after the restaurant re-opened following a 2-month remodel and a replacement of the chef. Now, the local pro basketball team (Los Nauticos) eat there, affirming that the food must be good. (Yes, they have a winning record). The Inn is right on the beach instead of being across a very busy 4-lane road from the beach, as are many Golden Zone hotels. The ocean views from the hotel room and the restaurant area were really nice. The hotel generally was quiet after 10:00 pm, except one night (a Friday) when a bunch of younguns on the beach decided to sing and yell at the top of their lungs at 2:00 a.m. Nothing a closed window and an air conditioner could not drown out. There were a few negatives. Some construction was ongoing on the premises, and noise would begin about 7:00 am. The beach is public, meaning that vendors bug you constantly while you are on the beach. The ocean water does not appear to be all that clean. Very few swim in the ocean near the hotel. On arrival, we got hit up to hear the time share pitch. After a polite but firm "no", we were not hit up again. On the whole, however, it was a great experience. I would not hesitate to return to Inn at Maz or to recommend Inn at Maz to friends.

"Nice hotel on the beach"
Low rise hotel with a Mexican feel to it. Right on the beach which was great for swimming and walking. Short cab ride to town centre. Lovely ocean views of the islands. Did a city tour and an island tour both worthwhile. Not a party hotel.

"Not a bad little hotel that won't break the bank."
My room was very clean and in good condition however I did see quite a few tiny little ants on the balcony which seemed to be coming from the adjacent suite. Some things could use updating or touching up. The bathroom fixtures looked pretty antiquated. I booked an executive ocean view suite. The room itself was pretty basic. An executive suite at this inn means on the top floor (5th-"pijo ejecutivo") having the best view of the ocean or if you prefer a view of the laguna which I wouldn't recommend because it isn't that nice too look at. One advantage on that side is you can sit on your balcony during the day in the shade instead of being fried by the sun lol. Very nice view of the Malecon and ocean though it is obstructed a little viewing north by an unsightly building/hotel right next door. It looks like they are sprucing it up a little. A previous guest's review mentioned the prohibition on outside food and beverages. This is not Olas Altas' policy. It's a dept. of health regulation so it is in place at all resorts and hotels with I assume an adjoining restaurant. Never encountered any rules like that before in the US or Canada and it is a bit of an annoyance if you want snacks or drinks after room service closed. Check in/out was a breeze. No surprises and they summoned a cab to take me to the airport which was there immediately. Bit of a language barrier but not bad. I think I was the only non-Mexican national there at the time so maybe they assumed I spoke Spanish.

Mazatlan is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Mazatlan, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Mazatlan hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
