I wasn't sure what to expect because the reviews of this place were so mixed. I was pleasantly surprised. We came in on Sunday and check-in was pretty quick. I understand what people were saying about parking because the lots are sort of small, but we were always able to find a spot. The room was clean and updated. Breakfast was something many people complained about on here, but I'm not sure why. We got there anywhere between 7 to 8:30 and there were only a few people there. We got our pick from cereal, yogurt, waffles, muffins, donuts and fruit.... normal continental breakfast fare. The beach was nice, sand was soft. There was a place to rent kayaks and such right on the beach. Yes, as someone pointed out, there are boat docks on either side of the beach but there's plenty of water space and no matter where you go, there were boat docks. This beach wasn't any different. Location was nice because it was more north of the center so less busy, although still close to everything and had restaurants very nearby. One call out - we managed to demagnetized our key a couple times. The guy at the desk said that it was our phone. It was fine bc we just got a new one but just something to mention. If we vacation in TC again, we would definitely stay here again.

"Nice and clean. Right on the water. Great staff."
The resort is close to everything in Traverse City. It's right on the water and the staff was very friendly. I liked how you could text with them during the stay.

Walk every where. This is the hotel to stay in. Great location but facility desperately needs updating. Restaurant is best buy in town with no waiting.

"Very comfortable hotel"
This was a very comfortable hotel with good facilities and welcoming, helpful staff. It had a shuttle service to take to you to and from the town which was very efficient and really appreciated in the evenings. We had a very enjoyable stay.

"Nice motel walking distance to the Bay."
The motel is not luxurious, but okay. The staff was incredibly friendly, the room was clean, it was close to the bay/beach. I would stay here again if I were to travel to this part of Michigan again.

"Wonderful 90 year old classic"
Hard to believe this lovely inn was built in 1927. Everything remains in great shape. The rooms aren't large, they're huge! The bathroom has obviously been redone in recent times and is fully up to date. Public spaces on the east side of the inn overlook the adjacent golf course from the inn's hilltop location. About a half mile (5 to 10 minute ) walk ( or 2 minute drive) to the west is the quaint waterfront village of Leland. Staff at the inn was cordial and supportive. There were always goodies such as chocolate chip cookies freely available for guests. A fine travel experience!

"Very clean for allowing pets"
I was very pleased with them allowing dogs and how clean the hotel was due to this. Awesome!! I did stay in the honeymoon suite and it was alright. The Jacuzzi definitely needed a remodel or some fixing up. Still nice to relax in though. Breakfast was so disappointing. No hot protein whatsoever. A lot of breads and cereal. Where's the meat?!? I wouldn't mind staying here again due to the fact of how I love that they allowed both of my dogs and to have it as clean as it was.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
