"Confused"
I actually booked a night for the Bayside Hotel but when we got there it was closed. We went to the Crown Siutes which was next door and they said that they were taking the reservations for the Bayside. Would have been nice to know before.

"Good hotel in off season"
We were greeted warmly, the room was ready for us, clean and heat was on. Breakfast was just okay, some items had run out and the staff didn't seem to notice or replace.

""Upper-tier" hotel in St. Ignace?"
For the price, all was fair and righteous on the part of the facility. That said, I must say that I was surprised at the truly rustic nature of the room we received, (not knowing what all rooms look like). The name of the establishment contains the word HOTEL, so certain minimum levels are anticipated. Prior to our arrival I called to confirm that in-room refrigerators were provided. Proven wrong again, (my wife said there would not be a refrigerator in our room), I find that indeed, no, there are no refrigerators in the room. OK. One can be provided for only $3.00 a day. Done. No biggie. BUT. Then the room heater was an ON/OFF again and again and again and again to maintain a decent temperature. (Earplugs second night). Also, there was the oddest plumbing knock whenever a local toilet flushed. Gawd, guessing I was up too late. This is not a bad place. St. Ignace is great. Mackinac Island is great. Everyone should visit beautiful Michigan, esp., the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. They need visitors. The winter of 2015-2016 has not been good for tourism. On a different note, WE THE PEOPLE can change the world simply by buying silver in any / all forms, especially silver bullion and silver coins, bars, and the like. No time or space to explain this position / recommendation, however, NOW is the time to act. Go out an make your first purchase of silver, or your 1000th purchase. Visit Michigan. BUY SILVER! Have a wonderful year in 2016 everyone! Have faith! Bear arms and VOTE!!

"Autumn Outing"
We visited for our annual Autumn vacation. The room was very nice but we had requested a room on the ground floor and were told by the desk clerk at check in that there were no ground floor King/Jacuzzi rooms available. This was simply not true, as there are 5 ground floor King/Jacuzzi rooms, and only one was occupied during our stay. Aside from the dishonesty, and lack of a step to get in and out of the Jacuzzi tub, we enjoyed our stay.

"Convenient to Ferries, mediocre breakfast"
We found the motel staff very friendly and the rooms clean and comfortable. Our only objection was the mediocre breakfast "buffet." "Rubber" egg patties, no fresh fruit, etc.

"Nice hotel off the beaten path"
Great hotel! Stayed here with my young daughter (5 years) for a quick trip to Mackinaw City. Just off the main strip in town, quiet and clean. No more then 10 minutes (with traffic) to any of the attractions in town. 5 minutes to Headlands, McGlupin light house and Wilderness state park. Mangers were very awesome - friendly and hospitable. (Gave us directions to a great breakfast place.) Nice pool and the property is very well maintained. Only downside was intermittent wi-fi, but that was fine as we were on vacation and it was nice being offline for a couple of days. We will definitely go back again.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
