My husband and I stayed at Breakers for 2 nights…a great choice! Our ground-level room was a direct walk to the beach only a few yards away. The staff members were friendly and helpful. The restaurants were delicious, especially the outdoor pizza oven and bar. This is a well renovated older hotel with great amenities. The biggest selling point is that beautiful beachfront. I am already planning my next visit!

The kitchenette was not well equipped or even basically stocked. Other than a sink and a countertop and stools it had nothing that most decent hotel rooms have. No utensils. No toaster. No paper plates. Just a fridge and a microwave. Not what I call a “kitchenette.”

Our stay at Breakers for a few days was great! The location, cleanliness and staff were wonderful. You can walk to food and local shopping. You can drive about an hour NW to “Rootbeer Falls” which was nice. You can drive 1 hr North to Canada for the day. The breakfast buffet, pizza restaurant , and Club restaurant were average. Very common food and conveniently located. Unfortunately our room was right across from the pool. Two of the nights, the chairs outside the pool became a hangout place so very loud while trying to sleep. Other than that, it was a very nice stay!

Wonderful resort after spending the day on Mackinac Island. The free breakfast buffet was typical food. Room had an amazing beach view allowing one to sit on the balcony and enjoy beach view and ambiance without getting sandy. The hot tub was enjoyable, crowded at times. Water was hot and jets were intense. The free shuttle to Sheplers ferry was efficient and prompt. We ate dinner one night at Breakers and was disappointed. We had extremely long wait for mediocre food served warm but not hot. We used a 20%off coupon for dining which the concierge gave us upon checking in. The concierge lady was friendly and helpful! Our room had a damp, musty odor and the entire hotel is dated but we did appreciate the free washer and dryer which came in handy for us.

We had a lovely time here. Right on the beach on Lake Huron. With a view of Mackinac Island in the distance. They have a shuttle to sheplers to catch the ferry. The concierge, Beverly, was so informative and helpful. Dinner at the hotel was very good and reasonable. Waterfront dining too. Breakfast was included and fine. Free laundry was an added bonus for us but it was just a special they were running. Indoor pool and jacuzzi were nice. My only complaint was noise but part of that was our location near the indoor pool on the ground floor. I would suggest asking for an upper level room or away from the pool. Overall a great place to stay for our needs.

Staff in the office didn’t know how to check in guests or how to adequately address any issues. Management not onsite very often. I was double charged and it took 5 days to get a refund back to my debit card. The girl at the desk offered little assistance other than to say I can’t help, they definitely need customer service training. I also told the girl in office my room wasn’t being cleaned and she ignored my comments. I spent most of my vacation trying to get my money back. We were there 4 nights, cleaning staff was around each day, But our room which was out of TP, conditioner bottle was broken the entire stay, and full of trash, the room was only cleaned once, because I flagged them down in the hallway. The restaurant food was good, staff were friendly, service was extremely slow. The indoor pool was full of sand, hot tub was extremely hot and filled with young children. Overall this resort has potential but after my experience, I can’t recommend it until the staff starts taking more interest in their guests and works on “acceptable”, customer service. Even if you can’t immediately address a guest issue, you should at least offer to try. It would have gone a long way. Overall very disappointed.

I’ve stayed here 3 times in the past year, with one more weekend already booked. I truly love staying here when we visit our son. It is a beautiful location, and all employees are SO friendly and helpful! The beds are comfy, the rooms are pretty, and they have everything we need. The hallways and rooms do smell a bit musty.
