"Great pick in Morristown"
I loved this place; I only stayed one night on business, but the location, ambience, and comfort of the hotel made my choice worth it. This is a great example of an old, stately hotel that maintains its character. The room was spacious, comfortable, and very clean. The bathroom was also very large and very clean. I appreciated the continental breakfast and the Red Dog Tavern had nice choices for dinner. My only complaint was that the wi-fi was a little slow (weak signal in my room); otherwise, everything was really perfect. I would stay here again without hesitation.

"Great location to the freeway, shopping and food"
I had arrived early, but the young man checked me in and suggested places for lunch, shopping and other ideas to kill time before checking in. The young man was friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. Older hotel, but has all the major accommodations as others, breakfast kitchen with the best FRESH brewed coffee!, WIFI, multiple cable channels. Housekeeping staff friendly and brought us extra towels daily.

The Heldrich Hotel

10 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick - Map

"Very nice hotel in the micro "theater district"."
The Heldridge is directly across the street from two theaters and a couple of restaurants and bars that aim to serve the theater patrons. The hotel itself has a restaurant inside and facing the theaters. It also sits on a block that seems to be the "town square". On previous visits, a Christmas tree lighting and associated activities were conducted there that had a friendly, homey small town feel. There are places within walking distance to eat and pick up toiletries since their "shop" is limited. New Brunswick is associated with Rutgers University so during school breaks the streets get busy. The Heldridge is a quality location with friendly and helpful staff. They seem to host a lot of convention and business groups which on occasion fill the lobby. It was only a slight issue one time when the halls were filled with freed active adolescents.

Extended Stay America Piscataway - Rutgers University

"Okay if you know what to expect."
This hotel is an okay alternative. However, you have to realize that this is really en extended stay hotel. The hotel only provides maid service once very 8 days (not every day). The clientele seemed a little young, so there was some noise. Not too bad for the price.

"A good choice for the costs"
This is not a fancy hotel, but for less than $70 a night, I have nothing but "thank you" to say to Howard Johnson Express Inn at Noth Plainfield in New Jersey. The room was adequate and clean. The breakfast offered a good choice of pancakes, scrambled eggs, toasts, donuts, muffins, cereals, etc. Staff at the front desk were helpful. Yes, I would recommend this place to anyone travelling on a tight budget.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
