Shuttle never came

Despite the advertised 24/7 every half hour shuttle, getting to the station at midnight and eventually leaving at 12:46 to take an uber because one never came was not fun especially after a full day of travels and delays. The shower would not turn off fully leaving a loud drip every few seconds that kept me up. The water pressure in the toilet and sink were not high at all. Staff was kind and the welcome cookie was great.

Old room

I was surprised with how old the room seemed to me, and how not very attractive it was. There was no water bottle to greet me, and the freezer was empty. It felt very very basic. the bed was comfortable and clean. Several outlets in the room did not work at all. The bathroom was miniscule. Honestly I was expecting more from a DoubleTree. Let's say it was clean enough. No frills. Nothing extra. Nothing special or memorable. Old room.

Maybe it’s jersey thing, but staff was not pleasant. Saw one front desk person walk off the desk as she didn’t want to deal with a hotel guest, regardless of who was right or wrong. Also told them to see if the vending machine on the floor was working properly to one of the staff on the floor and they just told me to go check another floor. Anyways the property is fine, has ammenities you need, food and beverage but customer service didn’t seem to be a priority there.

Good family staycation over the weekend

Overall experience was good. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean, pool and gym was nice. Wish there was more parking spaces and a change room when using the gym and pool.

The hotel is very convenient. It’s 7 mins from the airport and 30-45 minutes to Manhattan by car. The hotel offers a shuttle service from Newark airport- it picks up at P4. This is not parking level 4, but you get there via airtrain. Don’t make the same mistake as us! The shuttle was fine but heads up it’s not every 30 minutes. We waited 50+ minutes. Just be patient! The check in process was a little frustrating. Customer service was not friendly or warm in anyway. Later we stopped at the desk to get the cookies and fix our key and the person there was lovely. Cleaning staff and restaurant/bar staff is also very very pleasant . The room was OK. Bed was so so. We had a balcony looking to the lobby and pool but the door was sealed shut so it didn’t mean anything. It was also VERY noisy at night. It sounded like people were in the pool way past 10pm so it messed with our sleep. Not ideal. Hotel areas were really dirty. For example - even after someone came to sweep the pool area I saw so much loose dirt and hair. Overall - this hotel is average. I probably wouldn’t choose it again because of the noise.

The parking situation is outrageous, $30 for overnight parking but no one tells you instructions on how to do so and you get triple charged. I’ve never been to a hotel where they charge their guest for parking let alone scamming their guests with it.
