"A grand hotel experience with amazing views."
We very much enjoyed our stay, which was enhanced by a professional and friendly greeting from the front desk despite our late arrival and ignorance of the cost of valet parking (£20). The front desk therefore kindly waived this fee, which was enormously flexible and started the break off on a good foot. Thought we did feel like we were going down to the basement to our room, when we got there it was very clean and we could tell that we had a water view, which was fabulous to wake up to. The awesome customer service continued in the morning when, wearing his Birthday Boy badge, my partner was wished a Happy Birthday by more than one staff member. The only downside was the breakfast. I admit the continental spread was incredible, but the cooked element was massively disappointing. I ordered the vegetarian without egg or sausage, as I am vegan, and the portion that arrived was tiny. I was offered no replacement items, instead receiving just half a plate of food. My partner, who had a Full English, found his portion fairly underwhelming so you can imagine how hungry I still was after mine. The rates at this hotel are steep, which I imagine is down to the view, but with that in mind I would expect a better breakfast. Overall though I can't fault it. It's a grand and stately place in a stunning setting with beautiful grounds; we felt like we were in an episode of Miss Marple! Gorgeous.

"Friday Night Stay"
Arrived after longer than usual journey due to typical Friday traffic chaos on the roads. Welcoming Check In. Really enjoyable evening meal and breakfast the next morning after reasonable sleep in a warm clean bedroom. The only peculiarity was a telephone call from reception at midnight to say there had been a complaint by a room to one side to request my television volume be turned down. I am 60 years old and of all the years of my travelling up and down the UK I have never been requested to do this before. On reflection - the TV was mounted on the bedroom wall rather than as is normally the case during my travels- on the bedroom dressing table/drawer unit. Perhaps the bedroom walls are too thin for the TV to be wall mounted ? This next room customer complaint completely spoiled my relaxation after a delightful late evening meal as I overcompensated the lack of TV volume for fear of further complaints.

"Overnight Stay"
This B & B is a little gem surrounded by beautiful countryside, making it relaxing and completely chilled. It serves high quality food and the breakfast selection is second to none for a B & B. They have obviously spent a lot of money on bathroom fixtures etc. The bedding has high quality linens but my only issue was the mattress - it was like sleeping on a rock. Change out your mattresses please and your guests won't want to leave - this is the only reason this place didn't get a 5/5.

"A Place to Stay Awhile"
This is a beautiful hotel on Ullswater with a touching history. We stayed in the Gatehouse which overlooked the grazing sheep. We could hear them from our windows. We ate dinner in the lounge (instead of the dining room) and spent most of our time walking and relaxing. This is where Sticky toffee Pudding was created. Worth having at the source.

Sedbergh is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Sedbergh, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Sedbergh hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
