"Simply stunning, great experience!"
A simply beautiful venue, and great experience. Traveling up from Southend-On-Sea, we arrive to Abbey House and notice simply how beautiful it is, the gardens are gorgeous but you're set back but the building first of all. We walked in and check in, and our room had been upgraded to a suite for free, we had no idea why but we asked and it just had been upgraded. The suite was beautiful, the bathroom was very vintage with a large shower and a really feel bath. Large plasma on the wall and a ridiculously comfortable bed. We only had breakfast from the restaurant, but the food was top quality. A smaller buffet range than usual but perfect to accompany the breakfast you can order too. I will be returning, and I'm happy with our experience at Abbey House, Thank you. Side note: Visit The Safari Zoo, Fantastic experience!

"Great friendly hotel in a great location."
A friendly welcome greets you at the hotel. Everything is explained about the hotel and puts all worries at ease. The room we stayed in had great views down the valley and was very spacious, fresh cake each day in the room was a very nice touch. Bathroom was very well presented and shower was very refreshing. They have a book in the main lounge with plenty of walks around the area with detailed instructions making them easy to follow. With access from the back of the hotel straight onto several walks made the whole experience very stress free with it being our first time visiting the lakes and wanting to do several walks. Breakfast was lovely each day with plenty of choice. It is easy to get into Ambleside which has plenty of places to eat, Nanny Brow send you a great list of restaurants they recommend, which has a variety of options. I would definitely stay at Nanny Brow again and would recommend it to anyone.

"Perfect quick getaway"
Friendly reception staff and in restaurant. Food really a notch above normal pub grub. Rooms clean and spacious but creaking floors can be heard from neighbouring rooms. Overall though highly recommended.

"A grand hotel experience with amazing views."
We very much enjoyed our stay, which was enhanced by a professional and friendly greeting from the front desk despite our late arrival and ignorance of the cost of valet parking (£20). The front desk therefore kindly waived this fee, which was enormously flexible and started the break off on a good foot. Thought we did feel like we were going down to the basement to our room, when we got there it was very clean and we could tell that we had a water view, which was fabulous to wake up to. The awesome customer service continued in the morning when, wearing his Birthday Boy badge, my partner was wished a Happy Birthday by more than one staff member. The only downside was the breakfast. I admit the continental spread was incredible, but the cooked element was massively disappointing. I ordered the vegetarian without egg or sausage, as I am vegan, and the portion that arrived was tiny. I was offered no replacement items, instead receiving just half a plate of food. My partner, who had a Full English, found his portion fairly underwhelming so you can imagine how hungry I still was after mine. The rates at this hotel are steep, which I imagine is down to the view, but with that in mind I would expect a better breakfast. Overall though I can't fault it. It's a grand and stately place in a stunning setting with beautiful grounds; we felt like we were in an episode of Miss Marple! Gorgeous.

"nice hotel in lovely Lakeland village"
Enjoyable two night stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. My room didn't have special views but you could still see the tops of the hills in the distance. We ate in the hotel as well as the bistro attached - both were good. There is a lovely sitting room where my friends and I sat in the evening. They both had spa treatments and were pleased with what they had. I would certainly go back.

"Lovely hotel in a beautiful old building"
Stayed as a stop gap between Scafell Pike and The West Highlands. Good location, just out of a town, but quiet. Lovely rooms, great breakfast, very friendly, efficient staff. The only possible criticisms I could think of are that the rooms could have been more thoroughly cleaned, but we're of a good standard, and it would have been lovely to have an alternative to tea and coffee provided in the rooms (like a mint tea or similar), but these really are pinickity things. Very good hotel, wonderful staff, good value for money.

Ravenglass is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Ravenglass, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Ravenglass hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
