My wife and I live in Napa and went to Sacramento for our 21st wedding anniversary. We have been taking short get aways and the River King Hotel seemed like a good idea. Our stay was unique, had a nice river view room and about what we expected for the river boat. Really made us want to book another cruise somewhere in the world. Great service by all of the staff, comfortable bar and unique dinning room. We had the chance to explore Sacramento which even though we are long time california residents we had never done that. Nice two day experience, I would also recommend Moxie Restaurant in Midtown, great restaurant and the owner Adam is an excellent host.

Regardless if this is not in the best PT of town, the property is kept clean and safe.

How lucky to stay in an 1860’s private home from the “Weinstock Department Store” family on a tree lined street near the capitol, midtown, very safe and 100% walkable. This property is also a wedding venue. Check-in was easy and there was a gal manning the front desk when we arrived at 3pm. Our room 103 was on the reception level near the front desk, snack and eating room with, tables, ice, vending machine, keruig and microwave. There were also some comfortable chairs in reception to read and relax outside your room. There was a big front porch with seating. Also bricked in area with seating that is used by the wedding part of the business. Our room was huge. A queen bed, sitting area by the big windows, a desk, tv and quiet air conditioning. The bathroom was also large but the old jacuzzi tub/shower had seen better days. We had a quiet night and were able to have time in the morning to explore. Note there is no parking included. There is lots of metered parking. Free street parking nearby is 10p-8a, midnight-8am. Secure monitored lots are $30 overnight. Also there is not a person at the front desk 24/7, but just a call away. There is no pool. Do stay here if you are in town.
