Hotel Dann Cartagena

"Great Hotel on the beach"
The staff were all very friendly and warm. If you stay here, Spanish is required, both for the hotel and the surrounding area. Taxis are plentiful and very reasonable. The elevator stops only on every other floor so you have to walk up or down to reach your room. Not handicap friendly. Our room faced the street, but it had a great view of the beach out the side. It also faced East, so the afternoon sun didn't bother us at all. We highly recommend the hotel masseuse as she was great. The restaurant was extremely good as well. We had breakfast included and it was super.

Hotel Cartagena Plaza

Not enough Umbrellas on the beach and there is not a bar with drinks on the beach for all inclusive guests. On the beach vendors are operating jet skis causing the waves to not be safe for hotel guests and there is unpleasant smell of gas. Food could have more variety, there were few seafood options and after the second day we realized we were eating essentially the same meals. This lack of variety proved difficult for my vegetarian son. The beach was very crowded and there were too many vendors allowed in front of the hotel. Taxis in front of hotel were readily available and much cheaper than Azula LG transportation. Most of the staff is not bilingual though they are pleasant and willing to help to the best of their ability. I booked all inclusive, very disappointing. Only one restaurant for the all inclusive option. They should have at least drinks and coffee in rooms for family with kids, but that was an extra charge as well which made using medication difficult at the end of the day. Also waking up thirsty would prove to be extremely unpleasant when there was virtually no where to get a drink. English language was spoken by very few individuals. Although I was upset with certain aspects I understand that these people are honest and hard working despite their shortcomings. I would hope that the hotels in the area and vendors on the beach could find a way to unite to make a smotther experience, and implement a better tour district. On end everione have positive experience.

"Great location in the walled city"
When I searched for hotels on the internet I spent several hours looking before booking the Hotel Boutique Casa del Coliseo. When I arrived I was extremely impressed. The staff provided excellent service and the property exceeded my expectations. I told my girlfriend that this was the best hotel that I have ever stayed at. It was very well kept and decorated and very romantic. I highly recommend this hotel.

Movich Hotel Cartagena de Indias

Calle de Vélez Danies #4-39, Cartagena - Map
"Beautiful hotel, top location "
We stayed at Movich Hotel for 4 nights and couldn't be happier with our choice. The location is central and at the same time a bit off the busiest streets that tend to get crowded and noisy at the later hours of the day. Simon Bolivar park is just across the street and the beautiful Plaza de la Aduana is just couple of blocks away - there is the Contemporary Art Museum and our favorite bar for crafted cocktails El Baron. The hotel has beautiful rooftop terrace with pool, which was a great way to freshen up in the hot afternoons. Everyone who works at Movich is extremely friendly and helpful. A+ experience!

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
