"Our honeymoon hotel"
Located directly across from the beach. Staff were pleasant and helpful. We had a junior suite on the 13th floor facing the ocean. Was clean and comfortable with a big comfy bed. Room a bit dated and there was some damage i.e. chain lock ripped from the wall, some cracking in the flooring. Everything worked ok although one of the showers could be tricky. Rooftop pool was nice, clean and service good. Breakfast was included and although we're vegan we were able to eat ok.

A beautiful colonial hotel in the walled city of Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. Luxury furniture, wonderful bed with a five star mattress. Feather pillows and excellent quality 100% cotton sheets, bedcovers, robes, slippers and towels. We were in heaven and pampered by all the staff of this wonderful hotel! "Fantastic location, great views of castillo"
The San Lázaro is a tremendous hotel conveniently located by Castillo San Felipe de Barajas, the hop-on/off tourist bus, and other attractions. A mall with grocery store is within walking distance, as are plenty of dining options. It is a relatively easy walk to the old town, though you will have to cross one busy road. The hotel itself is very clean, sleek, and modern. I was upgraded to a castle view room at no additional charge. The flavored water in the lobby is a nice touch. The rooms are very updated and comfortable. The roof pool is fantastic and the bar offers a variety of options, though I ate better meals elsewhere. Breakfast was included and quite a nice way to start the day. The staff members were all incredibly friendly and able to assist with planning excursions, buying tickets for the hop-on/off bus, etc. This is one hotel that I continue thinking about: a unique find!

"Colonial charm, superb architecture"
My wife and I stayed here for four nights. It is a SUPERB hotel; I don't understand how Expedia can give it a 3 star rating! Being in the hotel is like taking a trip back to the Spanish colonial time. The decorations, the furniture, the general ambiance, the plants and flowers, everything is beautiful and in pristine condition. The staff could not be more professional and amicable. Carolina, Amaury, Jean Carlos and Everneles are true representatives of traditional Colombian charm and good manners. The location could not be better. It is close to everything. The old city is best seen by walking, so this is the place to be. There are many restaurants in the area, ice cream shops, and all kinds of stores and shops. We felt very comfortable and safe in the entire area day or night.

Cartagena is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Cartagena, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Cartagena hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
