"Wow!!! Best hotel to rest and eat"
While going only for an event, I booked in the Hyatt to get to know their, and it is a beautiful hotel. Modern rooms, with automatic sensor lights, iptv, Smart and Blutooth TV with the posibility to connect though hdmi and stream netflix, etc. The pool, awesome layout.. the breakfast: jams, smoked salmon, cheeses, taylor made eggs, great! And a great smile from the staff.. one other thing, the coffee maker and the coffee is from Juan Valdez ( more than Colombian Coffee)... and if you go to the Lobby and ask from something refreshing, Please ask for the Kyoto Coffee experience, it is the best!!!! The view of the bay, espectacular!

"You are not in the U.S.A"
It is difficult to evaluate a hotel in a different country when we are biased by many of the conveniences we sometimes take for granted, but, here goes. There is a really big language gap; none of the employees was fluent in English. The "hot" breakfast buffet was barely lukewarm, and the scrambled eggs were barely cooked. Sometime the cleaning person would come early in the morning, and sometime very late in the afternoon. If they knocked on the door and you were unable to answer, they simply let themselves in. The hotel is close to the airport and the historic district and so the cost of a taxi to either was really inexpensive (10,000 pesos or $3.50) All of the rooms face the water and so there is a great view and always a great breeze. The staff was very polite and as helpful as they could be considering the language gap.

"Catch the Cartagena Breeze from the Rooftop"
This hotel is not misnamed. A small boutique hotel in a perfect location in the old city. The rooftop pool, lounge space and view of the ocean set it apart from other boutique hotels in the old city with pools placed on the ground floor in an enclosed courtyard- no breeze, no view. At Bastion you can watch the sunset from the pool. Staff is extremely attentive and the breakfasts divine.

"Beautiful boutique hotel in walled city"
We were treated like royalty from the time we arrived until we left. The staff is extremely helpful. There were lovely amenities and the building was truly special and historic. The beakfasts were delicious and filling. We had dinner at the hotel one evening, and it was magical. The chef, Andres, made a special dinner just for us. We had the best ceviche ever and a fabulous seafood risotto; there was an abundance of seafood in each dish. We ended the meal with a poached pear with ice cream. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

"Run of the mill 4 star hotel"
Nice big clean hotel, nice pools, great breakfast. Shame Cartagena allows so many big shiny hotels on the coast. You could be anywhere in the world where there's non descript white high rise hotels. Specially since the prices do not differ much from the Mediterreanen. I doubt the staff receives similar pay though. Good hotel little charm.

Cartagena is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Cartagena, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Cartagena hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
