It's a three star hotel, not four. It has been recently renewed, maybe that's why doors inside the room couldn't be closed without using strength... I stayed in 228. The food was good but the light in the main restaurant was so cold and dark that the atmosphere wasn't enjoyable. The main discomfort of staying in Ole Tropical was distance to sandy beach and view of busy street from balcony, no chance to see the ocean.

A wonderful hotel with an upmarket yet relaxed ambiance. Perfectly located, overlooking a beautiful beach at the front of the hotel, with the best part of the Golden Mile shopping/restaurant area and the Hard Rock Cafe at the rear. The pool area is lovely and, like the rest of the hotel was immaculate. We could not fault this hotel complex, it is well run and the layout of the building (it is a dognut shape) means that rooms overlooking the pool area are protected from any noise originating from outside of the complex. We will definitely return...soon!

Hotel is in a excellent location very close to everything but is some how quiet enough to be relaxing, there is no noise from Veronica's bars (which are close) and the restaurants that play live music are far enough away as well. The rooms are spacious and clean but are in need of updating.

This is our second stay at the Mediterranean Palace and our second stay was just as perfect as the first only we stayed longer. The hotel itself is amazing, it certainly has the wow factor...the rooms are clean , nice views, live entertainment every night, the shows were really good no rubbish here...pool entertainment..archery...foam arobics...and so much more. Breakfast was really brilliant , the best choices, fresh omelettes cooked to order...the choices were endless...even champagne for breakfast....The location is perfect....right on a soft sandy beach....restaurants and shopping everywhere. There is a taxi rank just across the road...or you can walk...it's very flat and easy to get around...and the weather was brilliant, so hot.
We loved our stay at the Mediterranean Palace...and would recommend it to anyone...and we hope to return soon...An amazing place....brilliant.

"Good central location minutes from Las Vistas beac"
Stayed in this hotel many times. Rooftop has been refurbished with a small infinity pool and its all very professionally done. Same with the main restaurant. However having spent all that money I'm sure the management could have stretched a little further and bought some new sofas for the reception area to replace the very old and tired ones that presently exist. Its a pity as these detract from the rest of the hotel and first impressions last.

"good food, location for beach nightlife and shops"
I returned to oro negro as it is such a nice hotel with good food, cleanliness and great location for all you need, it did not let me down, the staff were wonderful and even though solo this time they treated me very kindly and I did not feel out of place. I have recommended it to my family and friends as a place to go to when in Tenerife and will no doubt return myself in future. I came for a quiet time of reflection and I had that.

Pocket Guide: Tenerife Playa de las Americas Hotels
Famous for its boisterous nightlife, Playa de las Américas attracts youthful revellers, as well as budget family holidaymakers, from all over northern Europe. By day the young slumber on the black-sand beach while families can enjoy one of the many attractions such as the dolphin show at Octopus Aquapark, or Parque las Aguilas (Eagles Park) to see free-flying birds of prey. A boat trip from neighbouring Los Cristianos to La Gomera is recommended.
