"Great spot in Old Quebec"
Awesome location in Old Quebec. Close to all the shops and restaurants but tucked nicely down a quiet side street. If I am ever back in Quebec City I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Right at the heart of where everything is and great for what it is. Really cool staff. My sheets had some tiny dry blood spots that seemed to not have come off from the wash though. That was on the base sheets, not on the white sheets they give with every new person arriving. The wi-fi was very bad in the room but worked great in the lobby. Overall had quite a pleasant experience and would definitely stay there again next time I go back to Quebec.

"Great stay!"
This hotel is located just outside the walls of the city. We walked everywhere! It was a great location......just steps away from the Citadel and the Parliament building. That being said, it is not a romantic getaway hotel. It is attached to the convention center, so it is very impersonal, filled with business people and meeting venues. The hotel staff were wonderful, could not do enough to help us. Claudine, the front desk clerk, even took my phone number and texted me each day to see if we needed anything. That was a first! On my next trip, I would like to try a smaller hotel, maybe a B and B inside the city, just to get more of the charm that is Quebec. However, that takes nothing away from the Hilton.

"Central, stylish, clean hotel in Quebec city"
Hotel is arty in design in its rooms, stylish and very clean with modern facilities. The receptionist was very welcoming on arrival and without us asking offered me a map and explained the sites, where they were and even where the gay bars were if I needed them. He took me to the room and explained the facilities. Breakfast was very cheap at less than $3 and taken in a small room with a modern kitchen, coffee maker, fridge etc as there are only about 8 rooms and a few suites. My room however was very dark as had a small window and walls and ceiling were dark brown coloured which meant I had to keep all the room lights on daytime to see properly. Not the hotels fault, but local construction work nearby woke me each morning so I used my earplugs to sleep. It has a very busy large gay sauna open to public also in basement but I never heard any disturbance from it. Access is easy via hotel internal private staircase. Hotel is central and all city sites are an easy stroll away. Great to be able to walk back to hotel at midday for a rest and not to have to use taxis to get to restaurants in the eve. On leaving reception was again very chatty and ordered a taxi for the airport which arrived within minutes. I would stay at this hotel again especially as the price paid for the quality was very good

"Quiet, charming small hotel"
Enjoyed my stay at Hotel Champlain. This small hotel in old Quebec City has large rooms and modern updates which mix old and new in a tasteful and whimsical way. The location is on a quiet street in walking distance to many of Quebec's major attractions and restaurants. I especially enjoyed the view from our 4th floor room with a view of the stars and treetops overlooking the lights of the city below.

"Mostly a good experience in a very good location."
For the most part things were fine, but we did have some issues. The second night there the air conditioning unit, even when set to off, whistled like a tea kettle for hours on end. They did fix it and we had no other bad nights. The Valet service was very unorganized. They say call 5 or 10 minutes before you need your car. But numerous times no one picked up there so it bounced to the front desk. You tell them no one is picking up at Valet and they transfer you right back to Valet, where no one picks up again and you go back to the front desk... On the last day there was no valet service as they were on strike and we were only told this when we turned up to get our car. They told us we had to take our bags into the garage where they park the cars ourselves.

"Nice hotel, in the middle of the old town."
The hotel is in the middle of the St. Louis street, the staff is very helpful and kind, the check-in process was as fast as it can be, no complications at all. They save us our luggage before the check-in and after the check-out, gave us advice on where to eat (where not to eat). The bed was perfect, the view to the street from the room also great. A small room but that's what you need if you're going visiting the town. I'd recommend it every time. Thanks

"Beautiful hotel in beautiful old Quebec"
First I was a little skeptical about this hotel when I booked it. Some people said it is more a hostel than hotel, but this establishment had everything I needed. Not having TV in the room did not bother me at all because I was coming back to the hotel only in the evening and tired enough to go to sleep. Not having showers in the room also did not bother me because it was not big deal to go across the hall to shower......and all showers are very clean. Not having a bathroom in the room was a bit inconvenient especially at night but all the bathrooms available were also always very clean. You can use WiFi without any works well and you can use cell phones as well if you really need to but don't talk too loud and don't use loud ring on the phone. Breakfasts were really fabulous but avoid going there between 8 - 9 AM. It's too busy and you may have a problem finding a space. Breakfast is supposed to be eaten in silence but some people did talk. This hotel is supposed to be as a tourist attraction to experience how the Sisters lived those many years ago, so you have to accept that. If you want a hotel with all luxuries and conveniences, I would suggest going to another hotel. There are plenty in Quebec City but also very expensive. This hotel had very good price. All I needed is a roof above my head and this hotel provided much more.

"PERFECT hotel location in Quebec City!"
Built in 1870 and stated as the oldest hotel in Quebec City, our party of four had a wonderful one-night stay on Sept. 16, 2016 at Hotel Clarendon following our Norwegian Dawn Cruise. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay. The rooms were clean, comfortable and roomy!! Our rooms (604 & 605) had amazing views of the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac and surrounding areas. At nighttime, the accent lighting was beautiful. The hotel staff was courteous, personable and helpful. Even the valet service was punctual! Hotel Clarendon is located in a perfect spot for the following reasons: a tourist information center is nearby; Hotel Clarendon hosts an excellent jazz performance in the restaurant on Friday and Saturday nights (we listened to a trio on Friday night); 2-minute walk to Rue du Tresor; 3-minute walk to Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac and the Basilique Cathedrale Notre Dame de Quebec; the Funiculaire lift (2.50 CAD) to ascend/descend the cliff from upper Quebec City to lower Quebec City is accessible near the Quebec Cruise Terminal/Place Royale at the bottom of the cliff and immediately next to the Chateau Frontenac at the top of the cliff; 6-minute walk to Fortifications of Quebec national Historic Site (Citadel); surrounded by many quaint shops. I have but one regret -- we didn't get to stay longer!! Next time we visit Quebec City, Hotel Clarendon will be our 1st choice! Perfect! Thank you.
