"Plain but serviceable"
Motel le vacancier is very convenient to the whale-watching tours at Croisieres AML. We stayed in a cabin with two bedrooms and a kitchenette. It was old but clean. The riverside was only a short walk and a staircase away. The sunset was very beautiful. We also ate at the motel's restaurant for supper and breakfast. The food was simple and tasty. I recommend the pouring chomeur.

"Perfectly decent place "
It was fine. All things were good. I just wished that I made more of an effort and stayed at one of the 'character' hotels.

Hôtel Tadoussac

165, rue Bord de l'Eau, Tadoussac - Map
We were only here for one night but it was lovely. The staff were wonderful and welcoming without trying too hard. The location is incredible. The building is historic and well kept. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was more than I could have hoped. Breakfast seemed a little over priced, so we skipped it and went to one of the many other options just down the street. This smallish town is so charming! This hotel is the centerpiece of it all and everything is within walking distance. Just outside the hotel is the harbor from which many whale watching and other excursions depart. All we had time for was a dinner, whale watching and lunch. All of which were amazing! There are several more restaurants and other nature oriented activities. I can't wait to go back!

Canopee Lit

"Glamping in the tree canopy"
We (5 in family with "children" aged 26, 24, 21) came to this 3 night visit at Canopee Lit from a succession of 5 star hotels on our tour of Quebec region. Once we understood that Glamping is a step up from camping albeit a step down from 5 star hotel we really enjoyed our stay in the region. OK, it was early Summer, so plenty of mosquito's but appropriate skin protection and room screening kept bites to a minimum. Waking in the night to utter silence, listening to early morning birdsong, watching shooting stars through the canopy of the treehouse were great memories. There was a simple but friendly restaurant just down the road overlooking Saguenay Fjord. Breakfast was tasty and great fun to be hoisted above each morning from the forest floor. An easy drive into Tadoussac. Very much recommend Chez Mathilde. One of the best restaurants in Quebec!! Live jazz duo too. The Chez Mathilde and Canopee Lit staff have a passion for their region and the lifestyle product they have created. Well done to all and thanks

Auberge la Sainte Paix

102, rue Saguenay, Tadoussac - Map
"Perfect location in the centre of Tadoussac."
This B&B is well located in the village with views over the mouth of the Saguenay Fjord. The accommodation is spacious and spotlessly clean. In all our travels around the world we have never had as good a breakfast as we had both mornings. There was a hot and cold choice which differed each morning and we saw beluga whales from the breakfast room on the first morning. What sets this place apart is the owners who are very friendly and will book trips for you and offer welcome local advice. Thank you.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
