"A Hidden Corner in the Cotswolds"
We drove here through the Cotswolds via Action Turville and thought, there can’t possibly be a hotel here. It’s just open fields dotted by the occasional farm. It turns out it’s probably only ½ a mile from the M4, but I never would have known it. The property is tucked away from all of that, and very quaint. The furnishing are a bit older, but the rooms were clean, and we were able to sleep 3 separately in a single room. This was very economical for our family. The bathrooms are modernized with a nice, powerful shower. After walking up some creaky stairs to our room I was a bit concerned about noise, but our top floor rooms were quite, and we had no noise issues at all. The rooms had windows that opened to the yard which was pleasant. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was clear to me the hotel made a concerted effort to provide excellent food, in quality, variety, and servings. It was a strong suit, and I wish I had more time or room in my stomach to try more things on the menu. Served under a trellis of vines, this made for a delightful meal. They demonstrated customer focus during breakfast. I ordered eggs benedict, and when it was not available due to a missing item, they gave us two breakfasts for free (of their own accord). So despite an older structure, this property ended up being all I hoped it would be and an enjoyable visit. I would definitely return in the future.

"Ideal base to visit Bath"
Everything about this hotel is exemplary; the location, rooms, restaurant; and above all the warm hospitality and friendliness of the staff. This is no ordinary hotel, it is more like a country residence where you are the guests. There is no 'reception desk' - you check in at the Manager's office where you can take a seat whilst the formalities are done overseen by the house dog who is lying in his basket, a completely docile and friendly hound too chilled to move from his slumber. There are corporate style rooms in the new building but also very individual rooms in the main country house but both can enjoy the extremely comfortable sitting rooms which are very stylised as is the bar and restaurant. The cuisine has Marco's stamp created by his excellent chefs which is extraordinarily good value for the standard. We left vowing to return.

"Lovely hotel that caters for families very well"
Mostly excellent experience. Modern hotel which is kept clean and very comfortable. Used the lovely pool with kids and my daughter joined a fitness class which she enjoyed. Only slight, and it is very slight, was the price of food beverages in restaurant.

Lovely hotel. Great spa. The beds were so wonderful you don't want to leave them. Our breakfast was included and excellent. The hotel staff were friendly and extremely helpful, even parking the car for me. (Being from Canada, parking was a bit of a challenge!)

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
