The Pear Tree Inn

Top Lane, Melksham - Map
"Lovely country retreat! "
We chose Pear Tree Inn because we were looking for a lovely country retreat for a couple of nights, somewhere that felt a little bit special for a wedding anniversary weekend away without our children. It fitted the bill very well! We ate in the restaurant on both nights and the food was excellent. The only slight issue was that because the building is very old, the floors are quite creaky so we could hear lots of moving about in the room above us. But, overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it.

"Mostly good"
Excellent location for visiting local points of interest, example, Bath, Laycock village and Abbey, the flight of Locks name escapes me , many other points for people interested in canal holidays, lovely countryside, Longleat park, centre park, Stonehenge, etc. Attractive hotel building in nice level well maintained lawned garden with interesting mature trees, good size outdoor pool within spacious walled garden . Lovely in the summer. Hotel interior well maintained, clean , with the reception area having a welcoming open fireplace , do they really burn all that wood. Bedroom Lime , they are colour coded not numbered, comfortable large bed , with warm duvet which if too warm will be changed for something a little thinner. Plenty of hanging and draw space, mirrors in the right places, and joy of joys well lit for those of us who like to sit up in bed and read. Tea making or coffee plus biscuits and bottled water. Particularly high quality door furniture funny thing to notice but I did. Nice bathroom with large high quality towels plus all the bits and pieces one expects nowadays. By the way I thought the hand soap was one of the nicest I have had with a lovely citrus scent. So nice in fact I brought the unopened one home with me , Sorry I hope you will let me stay with you again. The bathroom was up four steps which made it interesting but may not be the most suitable bedroom for the less able . I would have liked see a handle on the wall By the steps and a handle fitted to th

The owners were very friendly and helpful. We had the twin room with electronic adjustable beds! The bathroom was fantastic and had a double shower. We had one of the best cooked breakfasts we've had for a long time with plenty of toast etc. The whole place was modern and clean and we would stay there again.

Cleeve House - Guest house

Trowbridge Road, Melksham - Map
" A beautiful old house with mullioned windows"
Set back from the road down a drive the house stands in it's own grounds with views of Salisbury plain to the rear. Lots of wood panelling in a large hall with gallery overlooking, the house is in need of some TLC but it is clean and the couple who run it are very welcoming if a little unexpected. Quirky would be a fair description of both the house and it's staff.

Melksham is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Melksham, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Melksham hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
