"Great for a stopover or short visit"
I only needed one night in Preston, and this hotel was near enough to the city centre that it was only a 5 minute walk from anything I needed, but wasn't right by the bus or train stations so was much nicer than the other hotels on offer in the area. That being said, the location wasn't perfect in that it was right by the A59 as it came into the city, so opening the window at night did mean a bit of noise, but otherwise it was a quiet, clean, comfortable little hotel, with decent sized rooms and pleasant decor. The breakfast was standard fare, and checking in and out was easy, so it was a good stay for the price per night.

"hotel very convenient to our venue for the weekend"
This is our second year at the hotel and again we were very pleased with overall standard. Room was made up with extra bed as requested (2 extras were made up but we only needed 1). The room was very clean and beds were very comfortable - facilities were all working well and everything replenished/ cleaned for our second night. Although by a busy road our room was quiet and no disturbances. Check in was a bit of a wait as restaurant/bar very busy staff/service in restaurant was good and enjoyed our meals - great value. Staff very friendly hard working at all times.

"Good hôtel but food in restaurant poor."
Lovely hotel especially for the price but the standard of the restaurant food was very poor- quite pricey but overcooked and dry. Staff however were delightful.

"Hotel with nice grounds"
We only stayed one night in a standard room which was clean and comfortable but there was also a wedding party in. We never heard any noise function room well situated. The grounds outside would make for lovely photos.

I quite enjoyed the hotel however the food can be better especially the potato chips that they gave us tasted like it was from the morning and they warmed it up. It was not fresh at all. With the staff 2 Indian originated staff one at the reception one in the restaurant were very friendly and service oriented. The rest could try to smile a bit more since it is hospitality service. I like the atmosphere of the hotel and it was quite clean. The other thing is they sell the water l understand they don't want to provide complimentary water but it would be reachable for the customers when they want to drink it. All they need to do is to put a price tag on it.

"Comfortable, homely Inn"
Very welcoming and helpful staff, as nothing was too much trouble, and went out of their way to cater for my wife's special dietary needs. Despite the hotel being fully booked and busy on our stay, we felt everyone was important to the staff. We look forward to further stays in the future. Special thanks to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

"Good Hotel that should try a bit harder"
Our family room was very comfortable and well equipped. Unfortunately there were soiled marks on either side of the bathroom door. Additionally, on our 2nd morning, glasses from the bar remained in the room and the bed had been given only a cursory 'shake and make'. Ordinarily I would not have batted an eyelid, but the London room rates had set my expectations somewhat higher. I would suggest that the rooms are a little 'tired' and would benefit from a spring clean and update. The hotel is well placed and the staff, polite and efficient. It's decent, but overpriced, but as there isn't much competition for similar hotels/facilities in the area, understandable.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
