"Just a nice place"
Unfortunately, the hotel was undergoing painting on the exterior and our view of the beach was blocked. We understand the need for renovation to benefit those coming after us but no thought was given to providing us with compensation for the difference between a view room and one without a view (such as a meal or some other way of saying "excuse me". The room was clean and well functioning. The staff was responsive and helpful in locating places to eat and transportation. The location is excellent for visitors.

Overall OK, although I have a complaint to about the girl (petition, burnet) that received me when I was checking in, as she was very unwelcoming. Not only she didn't even say hi when I got to the hotel, but she didn't even ask my name; it was earlier fir the checking and I wanted to know if there was a chance of my room being ready anyway, but she didnt even bother looking and sent me away. Unfortunately, she was there when I left the hotel, and again she didn't even bother saying hi, she just throw me a very rude 'I'm on the phone'. The rest of the staff was ok, Jake was very helpful on site and via email. The only other downside is that from my room you could hear a lot of cutlery noise, which got me up at 5 am my first night, although I was on a rth floor.

"Check your booking. "
On arrival at Mereside to check in, one of us was given a room as requested with lift access and walk in shower, the other was given a room in Rosslyn, at the top of a flight of stairs - when this was queried we were told that the request was oinly for the one room, later refuted by the manager. After seeing the manager the next morning to ask why this was so, he then managed to find a room in Mereside as requested. We have booked in the HQ group 4 times now and on 2 occasions there was a problem with the reservation. The first time resulting in us staying in another hotel entirely, at their expense!

"Very easy to find"
This is an old hotel right on Douglas Promenade which is really easy to find. The staff are pleasant and professional, while the rooms are clean. Nothing special, perhaps a little small but perfectly useable. Breakfast was hot, varied and plentiful. A nice little hotel.

"Good first impression"
This hotel is well situated on Douglas's promenade and tends to stand out from its competitors. From entrance to bedroom the impression was of a well run establishment in excellent condition. The room was more than adequate although the bathroom floor appeared to slope a little which meant a little care had to be exercised if any water landed thereon. There is a good breakfast choice with an early 0645 start and attentive service. The hotel staff I met were all pleasant.. Buses run to/from the airport every 20 mins from outside the hotel and the Ferry Terminal little more than 10 mins walk away or marginally less by Horse Tram. The Villa Marina is nearby and the Shopping Centre fringe about 5 mins away. All you need is good weather but I didn't get it!

"Nice apartment away from the bars on the front"
I stayed in one of the ground floor apartments and was very happy with the accommodation. It takes approximately 20-25 minutes from the ferry terminal on foot. However, at least 5 of those minutes are up a decent sized hill! If you've got a lot of luggage or struggle to walk I'd recommend a taxi. Checkin was the most simple I have ever encountered (you check in at the hotel which is at the end of the road then walk up (2 mins) to the apartments. The apartment was well furnished and like most victorian houses had good height ceilings and a nice decor. Unfortunately there were some signs of age (some wall paper starting to split, a little mold in one corner of the lounge) however, nothing you wouldn't expect to find in any building of this age, certainly nothing that made me feel unsafe or uncomfortable. The bed was comfy and a good amount of bed linen was provided. As I travelled solo I didn't require a washing machine (had enough close to last) but some of the apartments do have one. It was a little tricky using the oven as the time display has started to fail so you couldn't tell if the timer was on and if so for how long. Thankfully it wasn't hard to stay near by to keep an eye on it. The view is also very nice as you look out over Hutchinson Gardens (appt 1 at least) which are quite peaceful. The surround area is quite and feels safe. All in all very pleasant and I would be happy to visit again.

Isle of Man is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Isle of Man, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Isle of Man hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
