This was my go to hotel in Islamorada. However after my recent stay I will be browsing for other options. The best part of this hotel was the old pool and tiki hot tub, which they are in the process of removing. The new pool is awkwardly located. To get to this new pool you need to walk through their fine dining restaurant (really awkward in a wet bathing suit). The tvs in the room are also troublesome as they rarely work correctly, and the staff at the desk provide zero help in this matter. Another disappointing aspect is the failure to provide complimentary coffee in the morning. The worst coffee you've ever had will cost you $5 at the hotel bar. Last but not least, this hotel was marketed at a VIP hotel through Expedia promising some sort of benefit, that I never received.

The back of the hotel overlooking the water was a pleasant surprise. It offers many choices, including hammocks, thatched roof tables and beach chairs that invite you to relax and enjoy the view. There is also a fishing dock that added to the charm.

We started our visit with a warm welcome from the front desk. So friendly and helpful. We were delighted to find the resort situated directly on the water with gorgeous views. Our room was a little small, but equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The bed was very comfortable and we had a partial water view. Included in our daily charge was free use of bicycles, kayaks, paddle boards and other water toys. The tiki bar was a fun gathering space and our bartenders were very friendly and helpful to guide us around Islamorada. The breakfast offering was a little lean, continental style with boiled eggs, OJ, water and coffee. We would definitely stay here again.

"Excellent location. One of the few hotels in Islam"
We usually stay in this Hotel (or its sister location -Pelican Cove) when we go to Isla. Nice ocean view, quiet hotel, full of water sports at no charge, clean rooms, etc).
A well served Tiki Bar, the raw bar, a nice and well taken care of Marina, an excellent beach and a great service. They just renovated all rooms and the reception are.

Pines & Palms is a fabulous little resort on the fabulous island of Islamorada, we stayed here about 10 years ago and it was just as good as we remembered maybe better. The rooms are clean and cute with everything you could need for a stay by the sea. The staff are really helpful and can't do enough to make your stay really memorable for the right reasons. The sunrise from the dock should not be missed. We loved the happy hour at the pool bar and we recommend the frozen cocktails and amazing Key Lime pies and pies on a stick!! Excellent eatery recommendations provided by reception meant we ate well for the whole of our stay... Looking forward to going back one day!
