The pool, beach, rooms, decor, and friendliness make this hotel the best find in the keys. I chose this hotel on an impromptu trip and was not disappointed. I was even the guest of the day which came with a good and beverage credit. This was beyond any expectation.

We stayed as a couple at PCI Holiday Isle from a monday to friday in March 2017, we had a perfect vacation. Our room was an ocean front at building 2. The view of the ocean and sunrise was perfect. We got starbucks every morning and then we sat on the beach north of the pool from 9:30 am until 5 pm. We would go to the pool when we were hot. We ordered drinks from the pool bar. We loved the key lime coladas and rum runner frozen drinks. We had dinner one night at chow hound, the food was fresh and tasty. We also ate dinner at top rated on yelp food places near the hotel, all great. There is a sports bar with water views just a few blocks north of the hotel, within walking distance. For families there is an acquarium/water eqperience type place next door to the hotel but we didn't visit it. The hotel had lots of people using the kayaks to explore the surrounding nature but we didn't try them. We spent our last day after check out exploring the various locations used to shoot the netflix series Bloodline, really neat.
Exploring the nearby marina while walking with drinks from the tiki bar was enjoyable. The marina would be great/convenient for people who want to deep sea fish.
We would drive to the East shorline every night to watch the sunset on the water, beautiful.
The staff were all friendly.
We will be back.

Overall a good stay at Pelican Cove and we would comeback. Check in was frustrating as we had asked for two rooms close by but they said they didn't have the request and couldn't accommodate since they were full. The room with two double beds was small. There was no dresser to put your clothes and the frig and microwave sat on the floor! The rooms were dark with no overhead lighting. One of the rooms was missing a lamp and phone. We were on the third floor so the views from the balcony were gorgeous. I doubt you would get any view from the first or second floor rooms. The facilities were great. A very nice heated pool and the beach was as good as they can be for the Keys ( remember the Keys are rocky!). I did wish they had a hot tub but the heated pool did help. There was lots to do- tons of water sports included in the resort fee and several charters available at the doc right outside the hotel. Only a continental breakfast but still good enough for something light in the morning- bagels, yogurt, cereal, lots of whole fruits, etc. I would not recommend eating at the bar. The food was OK but very expensive. $85 for lunch for four people with no alcohol. They did occasionally come out to the pool and beach to see if we wanted anything from the bar. We brought all our own so can't speak to the quality of the bar drinks. Staff at the bar and activity area very nice and accommodating! Overall a good place to stay in the middle of the keys!

It is quiet. The cleaning staff was outside every day to change towels if needed, etc. They took the garbage daily too. The desk staff was very pleasant. I only had 1 problem asking for a kitchen utensil to turn eggs over. I received a spaghetti spoon-she didnt speak english or understand my demonstration, but she was otherwise extremely pleasant.
i never felt pushed, rushed, or like they just wanted my money. I was not nickle and dimed. We had a very nice stay. There were no activities, which we like, maybe pool games, or activities personnel to schedule volleyball (couldnt get people going) but its probalby because most of these guests dont want to play group activities. Some things in the room were a little old like the stove, but did its job otherwise. We didnt think we'd use the screen room much when we first saw it, but played cards there or ate outside often. The grounds could have been a little more tended, for example leaves blown off the paths or around the screen rooms, but thats just what we have seen at other resorts, not what we have at home (grin). The beach was spotless, and the beach/pool lounge chairs arranged nicely every night.

No phone provide to call reception. Inexperience staff at the reception. It was more like a motel place. No entertainment/ activities, no bar/ reception area to hang around. Did not feel private with curtains open as it was passing area for guests both sides main door and windows. Could not relax in the room.
