Cheeca Lodge & Spa offers 243 accommodations with safes and coffee/tea makers. Rooms open to balconies. Beds feature premium bedding. 47-inch LED televisions come with premium cable channels.

Property and housing was run down outside of the main building. Poor air conditioning, bad coffee machines, bathroom doors do not close nor do they lock, showers hard to operate and do not function to be able to close one shower head and use another. Staff lovely but do not speak English well. Housekeeping chose inappropriate times to come and clean rooms during stay, e.g., 8:15 am. Noisy at inappropriate times because they were doing loud landscaping at an inopportune time of the morning (8:35 am), due to storms in the Atlantic. Giant cocoanuts were falling on the balcony's, sidewalk, roofs, while guests were trying to get to breakfast or the pool. Messy and a hazard if a cocoanut fell on a guest. Waiting for last minute storm prep is NOT the way to run a property. Staff need better training. Being reactive is useful for their clientele but that is a lousy way to operate. Will I use Expedia for Hotels again? NO.

Perfect experience from beginning to end. Greeted by friendly people at the gate that gave me excellent information on checking in and parking. The check in staff were very friendly and when asked if any upgrades to my room were avaliable she found me something nicer then I was able to. The room was beautiful and spacious overlooking the golf course. Parking for the room was close and convenient. And everyone in the cleaning staff were friendly and full of smiles. Only issue I had was none of the ice machines worked, I checked multiple buildings but im sure they are getting that figured out soon. Will definitely stay agian next time in Islamorada

Book Oceanfront Room if budget allows

This was our second time at this hotel. We had a lagoon view room this time rather than ocean front. The lagoon did look amazing but if I went again I wouldn’t compromise and would book the ocean view. The resort was very busy and it was hard for us to get a lounger by the pool, that said the pool area is lovely, and adjoining a couple of tiki bars. The only problem was the yucky stench of the seaweed which smelt like rotten eggs that the breeze wafted into the pool area every so often. We decided to eat out and the free shuttle bus to anywhere within 2 miles is a great asset. My daughter and husband enjoyed fishing on the pier the cost of which was included in the resort fee. Still a beautiful resort, and I’m sure we will return again some day

Ok but not exceptional

The lobby looks lovely and check in was easy then we had a nice lunch. The room is not great. The bathroom was in poor condition. The shower head wasn’t great and the pocket door had seen better days. We didn’t really spend time using the amenities but from afar they looked good. In terms of the room, I expected more from a luxury level hotel.

This was a spontaneous trip to Key Largo for us. We decided to spend more time in the area and explore Islamorada. We absolutely loved the Cheeca Lodge and our room/view. We will definitely return in the future for a longer stay. We were impressed with all of the amenities and family focused activities. The staff members were all pleasant and helpful.
