"Good overnight stop in Northumberland"
Located right on the A1 about 12 miles north of Alnwick. First room we were given had some minor defects but the reception were able to transfer us promptly to a better room with beautiful views over the countryside and coast. Ate at the hotel restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Both were tasty and excellent value for money. There was a petrol station adjacent for snacks and supplies. Great location to base if ever touring around Northumberland. Would definitely recommend.

"An Unbelievably Quaint Step Back in Time"
The staff and hotel were wonderful. As an old Coach Inn, the d├ęcor is a step back in time and the Inn is warm, inviting and extremely comfortable! It's right in the heart of the village and "walk to or quick ride" close for the Gardens, Tree House and Castle. The staff was extremely helpful and the restaurant exceptionally good and wonderfully decorated with paneling from the Titanic's sister ship the Olympus.

A warm welcome and rooms were clean and comfortable. No credit card payments but cash/cheque or you can arrange BACS when you get home which I thought was very trusting. Nice place and not too far from Berwick which Is brimming with exciting history.

"Very comfortable hotel,"
The bedroom and bathroom were both very clean. The breakfasts were excellent and in the restaurant a good choice of reasonably priced meals. There was a lot of food on the plate for both the starter and main course

"Exceeded our expectations."
Had a small family re-union and selected this hotel for location and because of good reviews. The hotel is lovely and location great, the rooms are large, comfortable and for once my wife did not complain about the lack of lay-down area in the bathroom. The bathroom was very good, but lack of a separate shower might not be to everyones' taste. No A/C, but this is north-east coast so would be fantastic to ever need it! The staff are really of the highest calibre right throughout the hotel. The hotel is terrific value for money and if we are int the area again we'll be back.

"Interesting place"
This is bit of an unconventional establishment and therefore difficult to review against standard criteria. The building is impressive and the grounds are lovely. It is somewhat 'in the middle of nowhere' in the National Park but that's fine by me. If I were to judge it by normal criteria there would be lots of niggles; the ten minute wait with the hot tap running before any hot water came through, lack of glasses (even plastic) in the room for bedside water (which would have to be tap as no bottled water provided), wi-fi not reaching as far as our room (or I would guess many other rooms as most other guests seemed to congregate in the reception area to get on line), large damp patch on the breakfast room wall, no mobile phone reception (O2) (but I guess they can't be held responsible for that), somewhat dirty and dilapidated window frame in our bathroom etc., etc. BUT the charm of the place really grew on us - in reality it is pretty clean, the bed was comfortable, the hot water when it eventually arrived was hot. The proprietors were charming, helpful and friendly (as was Brandy their spaniel cross). The location is fabulous. We were sad to leave.

Ilderton is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Ilderton, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Ilderton hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
