"Will definitely book again if in the area"
Beautifully presented hotel from the reception to the bedroom to the bar and dining areas everything was immaculate and decorated in a traditional style. It is a lovely old building so rooms and dining areas are accessed via stairs which may mean it is not suitable for everyone but this is noted on the website. I booked for myself, my niece and my two dogs as I was travelling to a dog show in the area and was delighted to see that the bedroom was very large giving me plenty of room to lay out beds and blankets for my dogs to sleep. Beds and pillows were very comfortable, good space to store your belongings and despite being an older building secondary glazing meant that there were no draughts and the room was cosy. There isn’t a lot of parking but at the time we visited it was adequate. As we arrived late in the evening we had dinner in our room and I have to say the food was delicious and quality was way above the usual room service fare. Breakfast time and there was a good selection of cooked and continental items and fresh bread was quickly brought through for toast. The staff in the hotel are an absolute delight, so welcoming and helpful and keen to ensure your stay is a pleasant one. I would definitely book here again if I was travelling in the area.

"8th stay approx ..."
I've stayed at the Plough alone , with my sister and niece , and my brother , whilst visiting my ( now deceased ) dad . I've stayed in 3 of the 4 ( I think ) rooms available . All have been clean and comfortable . Bedding always clean . Bathrooms always clean . Staff extremely friendly . Katrina is a busy but welcoming host . Great location for visiting many beautiful towns/villages and beaches. Ample car parking space . Car has always felt safe . On last visit 5 days ago my brother and I went on our motorbikes on a pilgrimage in memory of our dad. Katrina , without asking, provided out of sight , undercover parking for our bikes . Great service . We only stayed 1 night this time and enjoyed 3 pints of Abbots ale and an evening meal , plus outstanding dessert ! We slept well and finished our trip to the Plough with the extremely consistent full English breakfast ; really really tasty . I also enjoyed another full English next morning at another Inn , which was tasty too , but not a patch on Katrinas . Yumm. I could eat it now !!! I will be back at the Plough before the year is out . I'm a bit of a fussy guy , but the Plough is a great place . Enjoy your travels :-)

Morpeth is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Morpeth, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Morpeth hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
