We were switched to a stream-side cottage. It was lovely, spacious, updated and private. Better than the lodge rooms. The food was delicious in 3 different venues. The hiking was fun and pretty even in the rain. This is a great place for spring, summer and early fall.

Hotel is surprising a gem for a town which is less than a rhinestone. Hotel staff was nice, 24-hour coffee and tea, complimentary breakfast in the morning (which was real food). Was there for a wedding, lovely atmosphere, nice bar, and decent workout room (for a hotel). Rates were very reasonable. I just hope the hotel is able to keep up with low rates and free food.

The rolling wooded terrain, rivers, and Lake Wallenpaupack in this northeastern part of Pennsylvania attract outdoor enthusiasts for skiing and snowboarding in winter and fishing, boating, and hiking in summer. The town of Hawley hearkens back to Victorian times and its restored setting is popular for antiquing and theater, and as a base for viewing fall colors.
