Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel Scranton

"They don't build buildings like this anymore."
The hotel is in a old six story magnificent train station. The area is nothing to speak of but me and my wife were looking for a home base for a few days while we enjoyed the Pocono's, so that didn't really matter. However because of the historical nature of the hotel it became not just a place to sleep, but a destination in itself. I absolutely loved the architecture of this building. The beds were very comfortable and the food at the bar downstairs exceeded our expectation, not the typical Sysco bar food. I recommend Trax for your evening meal. The only negative I have is the front desk staff. They spoke the bare minimum, were not friendly or engaging. The housekeeping staff spoke and were friendly. If you are in the Scranton area you need to visit this grand property, you will not be disappointed just make sure you have a friend because the staff that I experienced do not want to speak any more than they have to.

"Friendly hotel staff and guests."
We stayed only 2 nights. Upon arrival, we checked in and went to the casino. The next day we went on a shopping spree and ate at Red Lobster. Of course, we went to the casino that night and enjoyed the entertainment. The last day, we checked out and went to Camelback Mountains. Great time thanks to my co-worker setting every thing up for my birthday weekend. Thank you Larisa.

"OK for value"
The room was OK and the beds were a little past their prime. Breakfast was free and you get what you pay for. Biggest issue was the shower, probably an outlier but the nozzle bearing was stripped so it wasn't movable and the spray was underwhelming at best. Staff are friendly. OK for 1 night and right off I81.

"A charming inn"
The inn was charming, and the room attractive and well appointed. However, the AC was noisy, and there was only one chair in the room. The WiFi didn't work on the second floor. We had a pleasant dinner in the dining room and it was nice not to have to search for a place to eat. We were told that someone would be available at eight 8 AM for the complimentary breakfast. No one appeared. I turned on the coffee and the lights. We were apparently the only guests staying at the inn. So it was very quiet.

"Older hotel. Clean. Ok for short stay"
Weekend stay was ok. The room was clean but it is an older out dated hotel. Fake flowers in planters looked tacky. Limited breakfast provided served between 6am - 9am so don't miss it. Staff was kind. Party room in back of hotel was busy Saturday night and we could hear the music from our room on the second floor. Pets were allowed.

"nothing fancy"
hotel was pretty basic -- nothing fancy -- we were not in room much -- so it did serve our needs -- it was clean We were there on Friday night -had no coffee pot, hair dryer -- had to upgrade to get this. Sink would not drain very well -- but they did adjust room rate because of that -- front desk people were nice

"Convenient location"
I was looking for a moderately-priced, pet friendly hotel at the half-way point for a trip to visit family and this fit those requirements. The room had nice, new furnishings and was very clean. I felt like some amenities that are common at motels were lacking (no vending machine - had to ask at the desk for sodas; no coffee maker in room). The WiFi signal was weak (I frequently lost the connection) and it took a while for the hot water to get warm, but I suspect both of these is because I was in a room that was farthest from the office. Generally speaking, it a pleasant experience and I'll probably use the hotel again.

Scranton is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Scranton, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Scranton hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
