Great location, about 15 min from downtown Santa Barbara. Good breakfast (included), but could offer more fruit. A bit of an odd smell in the room but not a deal breaker. Saturday had a lot of families staying for a soccer tournament and mayhem ensured at the pool. Why do parents let their kids do that at hotel pools? We never did with our kids - just disrespectful to everyone else there. Sunday they were gone so sitting by the pool was great. Friendly and courteous staff. Would stay there again.

The kitchen/microwave was filthy. The staff brought a tub full of dishes to us, left them in our room. When we returned several hours later we found the door to our room was not closed. Apparently, it needs to be pulled closed in order to latch. We reported it that night to the same guy that we think put the dishes in our room. He said he would have the door repaired in the morning and apologized for the door being open.
The door was never fixed, we were careful to close it each time we walked out. And... the tub of dishes did not have a lid on it, the dishes were dusty and also had crusty spots on them. I had to wash all of the dishes/pots/pans/cabinet shelves etc. before we could use them.
I complained to the manager when we checked out. She was sincere, concerned and gave us a voucher that does not expire for a free night stay in the future at any Extended Stay.

The room was small and perfect for a two night stay. Just down the street from the beach. Good location. The only bad thing was that we didn't realize we weren't going to have a refrigerator in the room, but it was okay anyways because we brought a cooler. It just would've been better if there was a fridge. Overall great stay and would definitely stay here again.

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed here with our son. My son sleeps in a crib and they've always had one available for us. We asked to be on the third floor because the last time we were on the bottom floor and the guests above us were loud. It was clean and quiet. A very pleasant stay. We will definitely stay there again the next time we're in Carpinteria.

La quinta is towards the top of state street so is a bit of a walk towards the beach. With that in mind, either be prepared to walk a lot or take a short lyft ride. Rooms were clean and conveniently located across store from a little market. My only complaint is that when I lost my keys I was not asked for any identification or verification that I was in fact staying in the room I asked for new keys for. That can freak me out a bit but other than that a wonderful stay!

University of California-Santa Barbara resides in this coastal suburb. Goleta Beach’s pier, sandy beach, and barbecue pits attract summer crowds while Stow House is the focal point for local history and events. For four months each year, Monarch butterflies call The Coronado Butterfly Preserve home but visitors can hike year-round through the park’s eucalyptus groves and along the Ellwood Bluffs.
