"Clean and quirky"
Small remodeled room. Was 62 degrees when we first arrived. No blanket on bed, no towels in bathroom. Was right next to the laundry and kitchen so it was noisy. These are all things a person can live with when the room was SUPER clean and was $100 less than other rooms in town.

    Pocket Guide: Anchorage Girdwood Hotels

A former mining town, Girdwood has struck gold with nature tourism. Kayaks and boat charters depart from the waterfront. At the Alyeska Ski Resort, the hills are alive with the sound of winter sports. In Portage Valley, the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center tends to injured animals. Nearby, Portage Glacier—one of 60 glaciers within 50 miles of Anchorage—is one of Alaska’s most visited sites.
