"Nice ski resort great for summer stays too!"
We stayed for a couple of nights as we were working the Alaskaman Extreme Triathlon. The room was spacious and comfortable, but a bit warm during the daytime. Of course no AC (it's Alaska and a ski resort), and it would have been helped to open the windows more than a couple of inches. It wasn't bad, but after hiking around the mountain it would have been nice to cool off a fit in the room. Our only other complaint was that the tub didn't drain quickly. We notified the hotel and they sent maintenance promptly to fix it. Otherwise the restaurants were great, the tram provided convenient access to the mountain, and everyone was friendly.

"Great stay for a family of 4 at "The Apartment""
"The Apartment" is the top floor unit with private stairs on the back of the building. As the name suggests, you're renting a one bedroom apartment for your stay, it feels more like a home than a hotel room. We had a great stay for our family of 2 adults and 2 kids, however, the description of the room on Expedia was vague. It mentioned 4 beds and didn't clarify the bathroom situation while for the other named rooms at the Inn, it was mentioned wether they have a private or shared bathroom. Well, "The Apartment" has a bedroom with a comfy queen size bed, a double sofa bed in the living room and a loft with a twin bed, not quite what the description said but perfect for us. There is a bathroom with a shower stall that has two shower heads, a regular one and a rain shower one. Full sized front loadIng washer and dryer are available in the unit, a full kitchen is also there as described. We really felt at home in the apartment. If I'd change one thing it would be to add blackout curtains or blinds, existing blinds let a lot of sunlight in the sleeping areas, keep in mind that sunset was 11:30PM and sunrise at 4:30AM during our stay and night skies are never fully dark in the Alaskan summer.

    Pocket Guide: Anchorage Girdwood Hotels

A former mining town, Girdwood has struck gold with nature tourism. Kayaks and boat charters depart from the waterfront. At the Alyeska Ski Resort, the hills are alive with the sound of winter sports. In Portage Valley, the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center tends to injured animals. Nearby, Portage Glacier—one of 60 glaciers within 50 miles of Anchorage—is one of Alaska’s most visited sites.
