The first night we got there we were awakened by a fire alarm at 2:00am which turned out to be nothing. In the room there were really not outlets to plug in a phone charger, which most everyone travels with these days. In the bathroom, the shower had no dish or ledge to place soap or shampoo or anything. You could see where one may have been seeing the rusted clip in the shower wall. When we got there I had reserved a room court side with a single queen size bed. They claimed to have "upgraded" us to a court side room with a queen and king size bed, which we didn't use. Also, when we arrived I wanted to verify that the stay was 9/3/2026 through 9/5/2026, thinking we were staying through the night of 9/5/2026, and they said that was good. Well when we went to Mackinaw Island that Saturday, I got a call from the hotel asking me what I wanted to do as they needed the room. I had just spent $80 for us to ferry over to the island and ask if they could then just hold our stuff in a check area or something and they said no, So I now had to pay the FULL price of the "upgraded" room at $731 for one night. I think this hotel uses bait and switch tactics. Would not recommend anyone stay there.

Beautiful property, clean rooms, quiet area, and great breakfast.

We really enjoyed the nice and peaceful atmosphere at the lodge. The room was spacious and clean, and the large patio with a fireplace was exceptional. We missed warm oatmeal for breakfast but that was more an afterthought. We can very much recommend the lodge.

The esthetic of the buildings and grounds are very pleasing at first glance. In reality it appears to be an old econo lodge type motel remodeled with mcm details, but the musty smell remains in the room. The shower curtain liner was stained. The staff was very nice and the restaurant gets very busy for dinner with both guests and locals. We didn’t eat at the restaurant but the menu was well planned. The property is not on the beach. There is a nature preserve across the street, about a 30 minute walk to get to the beach. There was no car access to the nature preserve during road work.
