Eastern Shore of Virginia Vacation Packages

We've been coming here for years. Unfortunately, this will be our last. We always book an ocean front room but for the last few years we get a room where the glass is shaded by moisture in between the double glass. We asked for a different room but were told none were available. Second year in a row that the elevator was broken. We were able to use the service one this time luckily. We were promised an "upper level" room. We were put on the third floor, (there's five floors). When we asked for a higher room as promised, we were told there were none available and since we booked through a third party there wasn't anything they could do. The restaurant was nice. The food was pretty good and the staff were super. The indoor pool is very nice. You can't beat the location. We're gonna miss it here but too many issues.

A diamond in the rough! Not pristine or glamorous and a little outdated, but it worked for a quick 3 day get away trip. The beds were very comfortable so it was easy to look past the outdated cosmetics of the room and bathroom. Love love love the location! It is absolutely perfect if you have small kids and want to be near the fun attractions OC has to offer. We have stayed here a few times and would definitely book again! Also, I really loved how they booked families with children all on one floor. It made for very peaceful nights without ruckus waking anyone up at 2am. 10/10 recommend if you aren't picky about the most up to date interior.

I like the John Yancey Hotel. It is a great location, easy access to many nice restaurants and places like Jockeys Ridge and Jeanette's Pier. It is nice to see a pool with 8ft deep end. Poole is well maintained. Boardwalk access to the beach is very nice. I would like to see the ocean-side facing part of the buildings roof areas repaired. There were a couple of areas that detracted from the overall niceness of everywhere else. We enjoyed the stay and certainly would like to stay here again.

No problems at all. Only thing missing, which was supplied immediately upon notice, was sheets and pillows and blanket for sofa bed.

I love the location of the property because it was directly close to the boardwalk and that’s exactly what I needed. It was two minutes by car and seven minutes by foot. Some of the things I didn’t not like about the hotel is there are a lot of stray hairs on the floor so I’m not sure when they’re cleaning if they’re not using a swiffer, but there was a lot of hair all over the floor in the bathrooms the carpets could use an update, but overall the room itself was great. I love that they are suites. That definitely allows families to cook their meals if need be. The area is not too loud, except for the occasional little ones who make noise throughout the night because their babies or toddlers. I would recommend this location to others due to it being conveniently placed.

Beautiful property and enjoyed our stay there.

Great option for staying oceanfront. More spacious than a hotel room and it suited our needs for a few days. However, that there is ONE elevator serving the upper floors was very frustrating with how long it can take just to get to the room.

Staff was great. Room was run down and not clean.
