The hotel is actually run like apartments, so there is limited interaction with resception unless required. This requires one to go outside and go a few steps in sometimes sub-zero weather, before entering an outside entrance. The rooms were reassonably sized except the bedroom bed is hard up against one wall on one side. Bathroom and kitchen are a good size. The TV never worked, cable system under repairs. Generally it was worth the extra space and kitchen, and the location is good.

This is a great little hotel in the centre of Tromso, just a minutes walk from the Tourist Information Office and the airport bus stop. The rooms are relatively small but they are warm and comfortable with a small fridge and tea / coffee making facilities. There is a good selection to choose from at breakfast (buffet style) with bacon, eggs, etc and a variety of cold meats, cheeses and a great bread board. In the afternoons you can go in and help yourself to hot drinks and make your own waffles which was much appreciated after coming in from the cold. The staff were very friendly and helpful, giving us tips on places to go and locations for northern light hunting. Within 5 minutes of the hotel there are a range of bars and restaurants so you never need to trek too far. Thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay and would definitely go back again.
