Staff, food , room, history of hotel is what makes this hotel best in Asia. Take a walk around to see great French architecture....Uber to anywhere so cheap. AC is fantastic for hot weather....coming back again and this is my fav. hotel now in Hanoi. Stay ONLY is old building avoid Opera side.

My wife and myself had two stays in the past week broken by a visit to Holong Bay. The hotel staff were very helpful in all ways, nothing was too much trouble. The taxis that bear the Nikko name were always on hand and good operators (cheap to get around). The bar had a fantastic happy hour being good nibbles and great value. We were always being helped by the concierge operators when coming and going and always translated for us to the taxi drivers. One of my best hotels.

This is a great property, a clean semi luxurious hotel with a wonderful restaurant. Located on the major thorough fare across from the water providing a beautiful view of Halong Bay, an amazing find for the price. Short cab ride will get you across the bridge to a multitude of solid local restaurants.

Staff very welcoming and accommodating. Breakfast and dinner at restaurant are excellent with bar staff also very accommodating. Lovely seating outside with nice warm pool. Great views of theme park and night lights from balcony. Beautiful large room and bathroom. Night markets not far away. Would definitely stay again, well recommended.

French owned cruise ship up to 60 passengers. Ship is about 16 years old (as of April 2014) and has had cabins recently refurbished but cabin showers old style marine/yacht and should be modernised to at least mobile home standards.
Cabin layout tight and bed arrangements need to be reviewed as cluttered and tight.
Overall good time plenty of open and undercover areas. One night 2 day programme is short and 2 night programme needs revamping as you repeat 1 night voyage or need to transfer to another ship.
Staff pleasant and friendly especially if you are polite to them and attempt to speak Vietnamese.
Only real draw back is all drinks are very costly. Other cruises are said to be generally not as good.

Good hotel with charming staff. Only slight glitch was that room walls were thin and you could hear neighbours talking- annoying.
Sapa is very weather dependant. We had thick fog every day (low cloud). Went on new cable car to top of Mt Fanzipan. It would have been incredible if we could have seen anything. Worth doing.

Enjoyed our 2 night stay here. Felt right at home especially with their 3 dogs and their little boy running around. Breakfast was filling, they always made sure we had enough to eat. Receptionist was very kind and helpful. She went out of her way to help us with planning our time in SaPa.

On the way to Cat Cat village and where all the most recommended restaurants are. Horrible construction noise though, BUT thats literally unavoidable in Sapa---they're trying way too hard to boost tourism. Beds were uncomfortable but sleepable. My shower soap ran out mid shower so I was upset about that. The hosts are really nice and accommodating though. Breakfast was also good. All in all, not luxury in the least but decent for the price.
