Being located adjacent to the Shin-Kobe Station, the hotel was recommended by a friend from her past experience. I was able to get off the Sakura Shinkansen at 11:11, check my bags at the ANA Crowne Plaza, and with the convenient access to the subway to Sannomiya Station, I was able to make my 12 noon reservation at a popular Kobe beef restaurant downtown with time to spare. With Typhoon 21 making landfall some 50 miles away late in the day, the hotel provided a place to weather the storm. Seemingly solidly built, the hotel withstood the heavy beating by the strong wides but creaked and groaned, emittting sounds like the masts of an old sailing ship swaying from side to side. Thankful to be protected, I had no complaints about that and fortunately, the sounds ceased by bedtime. I probably would select this hotel on a subsequent visit to Kobe.

A large hotel with many restaurants and facilities.
Staff most helpful and engaged in conversation in English to the best of their ability.
Stayed in an executive level room, level 27 with wonderful views of Kobe. The executive lounge was well stocked as well. Well worth the extra charge for the room as it also covers the pool and gym use as well.
The frequent free shuttle between the hotel and the 2 major transportation hubs was very handy.
