Great breakfast buffet; rooms are clean, roomy, conveniently located to transportation and shopping; extra friendly staff; had all the comforts of a modern hotel without big city feel. We really enjoyed our stay, highly recommend staying there in a heartbeat.

"Excellent view opposite to the castle!"
Take 1 stop bus from JR Wakayama but easy. Nice breakfast and nice view from room! Breakfast has many choices, ramen, western and Japanese located at shopping mall, bookstore next to it. Enjoy night and day view of castle, that's the reason I stayed at this hotel. 240yen bus fare, bus stop just in front of the hotel, within 1 min walk. Room is quite nice, reasonable price, clean. There are some restaurants in the same building of the hotel. I tried one Japanese restaurant, that's fine.

"Ideal for Okayama"
I turned up 5 hours early for check-in and the staff let me check in without batting an eyelid. The hotel is what you'd expect for a business hotel in Japan - nothing to write home about, but clean and comfortable. The staff are super and the free internet and breakfast makes this an excellent deal.

"Nice older hotel"
Definitely not fancy, it looked like these guys used the same bed spreads as Motel 6. But clean, and with a free massage machine, humidifier, water boiler, and refrigerator in the room, there are worse places to stay! We enjoyed the location near the train station and about a 10 min walk from a major shopping area with lots of food available.

"It's a good spa that's far far away"
Overall this is a good spa to get to if you're looking to experience a Japanese style suite. I recommend getting one of the ocean view rooms and even though there are no non-smoking rooms in the whole hotel, customer should know that they do deodorize the rooms before you arrive. Ocean view rooms means that you'll get to wake up to a stunning 180 view of the ocean and access to a gorgeous sunset. Customers will get to enjoy a Japanese public bath and a minimum of 2 nights stay is recommended to get the full experience as they split the public bath into a guy and girl side which switches on a daily basis. This spa is somewhat dated and could use a good overall upgrade. Wifi is only found in the lobby and internet does not reach the individual rooms. Ordering meals is highly recommended ahead of time or else customers will need to drive out to Wakayama city to get food (10 plus min drive away). If you're looking to get the full Japanese Ryokan experience, this is a great place to disconnect, relax and refresh yourself and we all need that from time to time.

"Great Castle View"
Booked and stayed for 1 night in a double room. Free upgrade to Lady's Package (bunch of cosmetics samples and some extra teas in the room) was given :) My room had SUPERB view of Wakayama Castle, which was breath taking. Room was a bit old, and I found some hairs on bathroom floor, and washlet on toilet didn't work, plus the air-con didn't chill the air and it was hot, and bathroom was like the smallest I have ever used, but otherwise it was a clean and comfortable room. Wifi worked well. Breakfast was good. The castle view from the restaurant was even better than my room's. There was free coffee at the reception, so I could grab one to go when setting off for a little hike, which was lovely. There was a leaflet about seafood eatery in the room so I tried it, it was OK, but nothing spectacular. It was overly busy for them so service was so slow. Nice ladies serving and was pleasant enough though.

"Excellent location of hotel. Just it. Weak Wifi. "
First time I visited Wakayama, I arrived at night 11 so the nearest hotel with the JR station and reasonable price is reserved. Nice location. Excellent reception with nice and kine staff. Weak Wifi. Strongly suggest in improvement of whole wifi system within the hotel.

Wakayama is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Wakayama, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Wakayama hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
