"Nice hotel - just needs a little face lift!"
We stayed here for 2 nights and whilst I have marked scores above the hotel itself and the rooms could do with a face lift. We had a meal in the restaurant and I felt it was limited in choice and a little expensive for what we had to eat. The staff were all lovely and could not do enough for us during our stay. The hotel was in a good location as we were travelling to a wedding and then into Chester. I cannot comment on the leisure facilities as we did not use them but it would be helpful for guests staying if hair and make up could be done even by someone freelance as I had to sort an appointment in Chester.

"Stately Barn Room trying to be Downton Abbey."
Room is in a stone barn.. One problem, the wifi quit on second day of stay. Had to go to main house to get mail. My husband and I got lost on first day in the woods beyond the garden. Had hard time finding way back. Map given was just too small and the dark was coming in. Otherwise food., staff, and room fantastic.

"Convenient Hotel immediately off A55 (no noise)"
This hotel is really convenient for all the nearby towns & attractions and is just 15 minutes from the coast. It is situated just 100 yds off the A55 Westbound Expressway. Extremely good value for money and with disability accessible rooms and all main areas, it is ideal for families, groups, couples or events and an added bonus is that it has a gym & swimming pool attached which is available for residents' use. The staff are really friendly and extremely helpful and the food is very good. It's just down the road from Conwy, Llandudno and Angleseyto the west or Wrexham and Chester to the east, and there is loads to see and do in the surrounding area. For crafters, fabric workers & knitters - it is just 20 minutes from Abakhan with its fabulous fabrics, yarns & craft goodies (for all ages) as well as an extensive range of excellent courses and a great cafe/gift shop and a children's play area. Thoroughly recommend it for its great central location.

"4 Days away."
My wife and I decided at short notice to have a few days away in the Llangollen area. We picked the Bryn Howel. We booked ahead for Sunday dinner as it can be quite busy. It was, a group of 19 were in celebrating an 80th birthday. It was perhaps a bit noisy but, youre only 80 once. The food was excellent. We also had an evening meal on 2 nights and they were good as well. Breakfast was good too, although perhaps a menu would have helped with choice. No need for it to be a guessing game if you want other than full English. In line with a few other reviews, we found the hotel to be a bit dated. Bit of curled wallpaper here and there and some knocks and scratches. And some quite dark areas with all the oak panelling which was no doubt popular when the main building was built a few hundred years ago. Our room was a bit small but adequate. But it was warm. Bryn Howel is ideally situated between Llangollen and Trevor, with the Llangollen canal running right past the hotel to the world heritage site of Pontcysylithe and Telford's aquaduct. We would go back again, probably in summer time so we can explore on foot the canal each way. The hotel staff were very good, no problems at all. Overall Btyn Howel is a nice place, it just wants a bit of extra TLC.

Clwyd is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Clwyd, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Clwyd hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
