"Nice, clean hotel. Close to all. Friendly staff. "
It's sad that this hotel has anything less than 3 stars. It's clean and quiet. It's close to all. The staff is extremely friendly. I highly recommend this hotel.

"Just what we needed!"
We ended up at the Royal Inn because we were unable to find ANY lodging for that night anywhere in the Thousand Islands region of New York or Canada where we were vacationing. The room was VERY inexpensive and it delivered as expected for an economy hotel. It was clean, had two beds, two chairs, efficient (if noisy) air conditioning, fridge and microwave, a good sized TV with a good selection of channels, free WiFi, free coffee in the lobby and parking right outside the door. There were also 19 outlets into which one might plug one's electronics, and anything else one had to plug in. The staff was courteous and available. The room lacked hangers, had not enough towels for two people with long hair, and had terrible lighting. The floor was tile and had no rugs. But given the price, and the previous night's very negative experience with a very expensive hotel in Ottawa, those things were fine compromises. Again, given the economy price, this hotel was in a terrific location, ten minutes from downtown, 20 minutes from the St. Lawrence River and across the road from and excellent diner for breakfast.

"staff"
the day we checked in, the man that was doing the check in on the night Wednesday 21 to Thursday 22 (midnight) was extremely rude, never the less I didn't feel welcome because I was treated differently when I said it was a debit card or credit card from Puerto Rico. I think we are past the judging Puerto Rico is part of the United States, not some desert Island. with this said I think a retraining for that staff member should be order for his Lack of knowledge and for better customer service

"Great folks, wonderful restaurant"
Basic motel room with nice touches like a wood frame screen door which made for great breezes through the room. The restaurant was a terrific choice for dinner with good selections, perfectly prepared. The staff and owners could not have been more accommodating. We'll most definitely be back when in the 1,000 Islands area.

"Very peaceful location, easy walk to restaurants."
The lady on reception was welcoming and friendly. The Inn is a large elegant period property with light airy decor and furnishings. Our room had 3 windows (one with a view of the harbour and lake). It was large and comfortable and the bathroom was excellent, the shower in particular worked very well. The bed (a king) had good quality linens. The clothes hanging area was open and this was the only thing that spoiled the overall ambience of the room. The coffee machine functioned ok but this wasn't the best coffee I have ever tasted and there was no 'fridge in the room (although ice was available on the ground floor). Having said that the room description had not stipulated a 'fridge so I ought to have realised in advance. The staff were very helpful when we had an issue with our car key as we were about to leave.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Calcium hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
