A lovely, oldy-worldy hotel/pub. We loved all the old features like the wooden doors and beams. The room was spacious and the bed was comfy, but the pillows were quite hard and lumpy. Again, the bathroom was spacious, but with only a bath and handheld shower it was a bit awkward. The shower could do with nailing up on the wall and a shower curtain adding. This didn’t detract from our stay, but it would make it a lot more functional. Breakfast in the morning was nice. The poached eggs were delicious! But it’s a bit odd that the chef shuts the kitchen 15 minutes before breakfast technically ends.

Great hotel, large room, large comfy bed, excellent breakfast with extensive choice, top end hotel for a reasonable price

Room was clean, shower tray to floor covering could do with replacing as cracked, breakfast was good with the amount of choice , but coffee machines need to be checked more often as keeps running out of water and beans.

The staff is excellent. The facilities are in a transition period. Hopefully the hotel will be in shape soon enough/

Room very clean and housekeeping in attendance. Breakfast - chaotic but a very busy period for hotel; staff multi-tasking perhaps a bit too much; guests not too sure where anything was located at buffet; no room-check 'just turn up' gives impression of low-value aspect. Everything else, fine.
