On Friday, 2- 21 I stayed with my family in room 331 at Extended Stay America Select Suites in Tampa. FL. I booked the stay in good faith, being misled by the pictures and descriptions of the "hotel" by Expedia.com. I am writing to formally express my disappointment with my experience and a formal complaint. Initially I was offered room 105 but the conditions I experienced there made me go back to the reception desk and request the room change hoping the new room would finally be as I expected a comfortable and enjoyable stay, but unfortunately, several issues negatively impacted my visit. The room had a musty and cigarette-like odor. The room had long lasting stains on the couch, the chair and the carpet. The carpet in fact was disgusting, covered with stains and stinked. The shower/bath spout was broken causing the water to leak the entire time. Since I was traveling with my daughter and my son we needed 2 beds or a bed and a couch. Unfortunately, the couch was not suitable to be used because of its sanitary condition, so my daughter had to stay all night in the armchair. By 5 am she became extremely itchy and developed a rash on the skin. It might have been caused by bugs in the upholstery. On the other hand, I found some hair on the bed linens. Eventually, all 3 of us needed to sleep on bed covers cramped together. None of the furniture was suitable to be used, as everything in the room was sticky and dirty. I expected a higher standard of service based on the price.

Unfortunately the second maid called off sick so welcoming sounds are maid #1 yelling up and down the hall. Fortunately a room was cleaned and available for us. The elevator reeked of cigarettes from butts where the doors opened. The facility is unkempt. Okay for a 1 night stay to be close to the airport

The place was absolutely disgusting, black stains on rugs, hair in bed, yellow on the refrigerator, the smell was awful but we were able to open the window on the third floor with no screen no guards for ventilation. Poor worse stay ever

do not advise. check in time is limited from 3pm-6pm. they do not have staff security or a front desk person working outside those hours. if you attempt to check in outside those hours the front desk is put behind a barricade.they will not honor your reservation and still try to charge full price.

This place was disgusting - we saw mold, cockroaches, and worms. We couldn't even stay here one night and had to leave and book another place. I know it's on cheaper side and we weren't expecting something fancy, but this was just unlivable. And there was no one to help us at the front desk, over email, or over phone. Would not recommend to anyone.

Nightmare

The front desk person left earlier than hours stated. My friend was very sick and we needed to get her to bed. We waited over 45 min and just by chance someone that works and lives there happened to walk by and see us. Thankfully for us this happened and by this point my friend was half sleeping in the lobby chair. The room had stains on the bed, short black hair in the bathroom and under the covers of one of the beds. When I called hotels.com to complain about the situation they denied a request saying the hotel manager never heard of this situation. My question is how would anyone hear about the situation if no one was working?!?!?!
