Many wonderful things: amazing location, seems to be in the middle of everything whether for work or play; warm and welcoming staff (umbrellas for guests to borrow at the door); huge quiet bedroom even though I had a low level room facing the street; consistently fantastic breakfasts (at the buffet and room service); wonderful bathroom set up with soak tub; best hotel gym I have visited (and I have visited several); top notch laundry service. There were some surprising aspects to my stay: inconsistent dinners through room service (the same dish could be amazing one night and meh the next); my room, although spacious and quiet, was a bit tired and worn and could have used a little love; one feature of my room didn't work and it took several calls to get the problem fixed timely. The staff also don't do a great job at cross selling their services. I tried to buy gift certificates at the front desk, was told they did not sell them, only to be told later by reservations that they did sell them. I was not told about the hotel spa and there was no information about on the in-room tablet I used to order room service. Regardless, overall it was a highly comfortable and enjoyable extended stay and I wholly recommend it.

Enjoyed my stay

Stayed in two rooms one on the Executive floor and one Heritage room. The second was great; the first had one or two quirks - plug sockets in odd places, no dressing table. Executive lounge very good though wasn’t able to make much use of it. Breakfast was fine though less extensive than comparable hotels but in a beautiful space. Arrived early and was checked in by 09.00 at a price.

Still our No 1 hotel in the City

Checked in by the gracious and lovely Tracy, who had a beautiful smile and made us feel welcome. We were early and just wanted to drop our bags off, which wasn't a problem. Got an SMS later saying our room was ready. Our adult daughter was first back to the room and reported back it was 1212, which was down the end of the corridor, so should be nice and quiet - which it was. We had a lovely 2 night stay to celebrate our daughter's birthday and Father's day. Beds were very comfy, shower was strong and hot, and room was spotlessly clean. 3 bottles of water was left each day which was much appreciated and enough toiletries, face washers and towels for 3 (whereas some hotels only provide 2). The Fullerton has been our No. 1 preferred accommodation in the City for quite some time and many stays, and will continue to be with this kind of attention to detail and level of service.

Charging 5 star, but not quite the standards

In my opinion, it’s a hotel charging 5 star rate but not quite getting 5 star experience. Let’s start with the shower kept going from water cold water to very hot water. And then the pipe rattling sound in the bathroom. I felt that this happens when other rooms were using the sink/shower. And then you have housekeeping started cleaning room very early in the morning (7-8 ish). I could hear them mopping from the next room with doors banging on the wall frequently. This happened on the weekend too. And the bell service. We were handling many pieces of luggage - no one offered to help upon checkout. And when our cab arrived, again, they didn’t offer to help with the loading. Luckily the cab driver was kind enough to help.
