"Peaceful Country stay"
We stayed one night after 6 days of hiking on the Appalachian Trail. This is a very interesting house, filled with antiques and history. It was a a great place to unwind after a strenuous trek. Alan, the proprietor, made us very welcome and is a great cook! We enjoyed sitting on the deck listening to the frogs in the goldfish pond.

"Nice clean Hotel"
Nice, friendly and professional staff. The hotel has a very nice lobby. A great first impression as you first walk in. Our room was comfortable and clean. Wonderful coffee available to guests in the lobby. The best we had all weekend. We would stay here again.

"Great Hotel But Getting a Little Run Down"
This was my second time staying at the Stonewall Jackson. The location could not be better in Staunton if you're looking to actually enjoy the town. I enjoyed my stay but was disappointed to find the hotel a good deal more run-down than I remember it being a few years ago (2013). The chair in the corner of the room was ragged, there was a bit of mold on the shower curtain liner, and the light when you first come in the room was strobing (luckily neither myself nor my friend are epileptic). On a separate note, the shower in our room had aggressively strong water pressure... my hair was very clean, but it kind of hurt. None of these things greatly affected our stay, but they are a bit disappointing since I wouldn't exactly call this a cheap hotel and remembered the hotel being a lot nicer before. That said, the room was clean overall and the location was perfect for us as we were attending a wedding in town, and I absolutely love Staunton and was able to walk straight out the door to go exploring, which was much appreciated.

"Beautiful views of mountains"
Beautiful views, very quiet location, very friendly and helpful check-in staff. New carpet in rooms, clean rooms, simple with small fridge and microwave. No dresser for clothes, but small rack to hang clothes on. Mattresses were a bit hard and pillows a bit lumpy, but very soft. Pool was deep, no diving board or slide, but clean with lots of chairs and lounges chairs around. A smaller pool was being filled in with rocks to close it. Small mini-golf attached to property as well. Breakfast was standard, muffins, toast, apples, oatmeal, 2 types of cereal, and yogurt. Would def stay again for price, location and serenity of area.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Shenandoah National Park hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
