Cedar Grove Lodge

Before the review I would like to mentioned: we visited Kings Canyon in the low season in a week before roads closures. I cannot guarantee the same experience in the high season. First what came in mind is a great location. Hotel is standing on the bank of South Fork of Kings river. So you'll get nice sound of roaring river. Fall is really awesome in that place, all that gold color, pleasant temperatures and no crowds. They have decent snack bar. I cannot say that the dishes were very healthy (too fat as for me) but they were made in a short time and were okay. Also we got free tea and coffee. The snack bar is the place were you could get your breakfast. Short stack of pancakes tasted great. The hotel staff are the most friendliest people we ever met. The room was ok. We had the room with two queen beds. It had A/C though we didn't use it. No coffee maker, no fridge, no TV: but that was okay for such remote place. Room had small bathroom with the tiny shower cabin. Men had problems to fit in it. What was not okay is their WiFi. As there no cell phone connection WiFi is a must to send a note to the family. The hotel has WiFi but the quality of it is very very very bad.

"Hotel in small village , close to Sequoia Park "
We stayed here 1 night , because we were visiting Sequoia National Park. It's 1 hour drive to General Sherman. It's ok for overnight , but I would not stay here for a long time. Even price is good , I have 2 problems here- 1) bedding is very soft, my back hurt after a night, 2) ac is old and very loud. I could not sleep well because of noise from it :( and weather here is very hot in summer, 100F at 8 pm. But maybe it just me. Reception is very friendly , we used outside pool in the evening. Continental breakfast consist of oatmeal in bags, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, pastries , oranges. Hotel has old furniture, and I would suggest to do general cleaning on the territory - there were spiders nets on outside stairs, in lobby ( there is lots of different stuff in lobby) I like mountain view

"Quaint hotel near the Sequoia National Park. "
This hotel was exactly what we were expecting for the most part. Very quaint, comfortable bed and fairly quiet. The only item that really stood out was the shower in our room. Shower head was terrible and impossible to adjust so showering was a challenge. Other than that, we really enjoyed our time at this hotel. We do not have any young children, but this hotel would be great for them as well. Has a pool and there are sheep there as well. Continental breakfast was included. If you want to stay close to Sequoia National, this is a good hotel to consider.

"Fantastic location!"
Tidy and clean, but it's a National Park hotel, so you're going to get tiny bathrooms that could use some maintenance and rock hard beds. That said, I actually consider that part of the experience! It's in a fantastic location and the patio/balcony at the end of the hall is beyond charming.

Sequoia National Park is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Sequoia National Park, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Sequoia National Park hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
