Gena's Sierra Inn was an okay option for a last minute stay near Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Park. Its 15-20 mins outside the park and 5 mins down the road theres a gas station and a good coffee shop. My stay was okay because the carpet in the room was a bit dirty. There was also 3 small dead bugs (1 on the inside of the front door, 1 in the side room/closet and 1 in the cealing by the top bed/bunk bed). The room size was a bit small. It was like the size of regular bedroom in typical house (though it might be a bit too small for some people specially when you compare it to a typical room in a hotel). The shower had low water pressure but it worked. The beds were comfortable and the room filled its purpose to provide a shower and a bed. So if you're looking for somewhere spacious to relax and spend the night, Gena's might not be for you. But if u just need a place to shower and sleep, then visit Gena's Sierra Inn. *stayed here on 8/3/25 with 2 other ppl (1 child and 1 other adult)

Worst place we have ever stayed!!

This was the worst place we have ever stayed in our entire life! When we arrived at night, we noticed that the other guests were sitting in the chairs outside their room. We found that strange, but when we entered the room, we realized why. The room very small! It was was slightly bigger than the bed. The carpet in the room looked like it had not been changed out in a VERY long time! The bathroom was extremely small and cramped. In the bathroom there one very small sink (no counter at all), a toilet and small shower. The shower was sponge painted with black, gray and white paint. (We skipped showering!) There was a tiny, tiny closet space that was converted iinto a place to put the tiny plastic coffee pot. There were no night stands and no place to put our luggage so we put it on the top bunk bed above the lower bed. It was ridiculous! We booked 3 nights, but it was so bad that we cut our trip short and left a day early, forfeiting our third night. There was no way we were going to stay there another night. We are not picky travelers. Motel 6 is fine with us, but this place will forever be remembered as the worst place we have ever stayed!

Lovely place with an excellent restaurant that stays open till 10 pm which gave us time to complete our hikes without stress. Friendly staff. Met friendly guests all going to Sequoia. A very good place to stop for rest and food.

I have lived in the USA for 30 years and have stayed in many hotels across the country. Unfortunately, this is by far the WORST hotel experience I have ever had. The location is right on the main road, so I could hear every single car passing by — very noisy and disruptive. The room was extremely small, dirty, and had a strong moldy smell. The two single “beds” were barely beds at all — more like cots. The sheets were awful; honestly, I could have bought better sets at Walmart or Target for $15. The food wasn’t terrible, but it was overpriced. The menu was misleading — for example, the “Chicken Caesar Salad” was listed at $15, but then it said “Add chicken add $10.” When I asked the waitress, she confirmed that adding chicken would bring the total to $25. Also, when I asked for a water refill, the waitress simply pointed to a water jar next to our table and told us to refill ourselves, even though the restaurant was nearly empty at 10:30 PM. BTW, a man checking in around the same time(10:00pm) was turned away despite having a reservation email because his name was not on their list. The hotel was completely sold out, and he had to find accommodations elsewhere. I would never stay here again, and I would strongly advise others to avoid this place.

The staff and service was great, the only problem was the A/C unit froze up, had to turn it off for a couple of hrs to thaw, turned it back on and was running, but took awhile to cool down the room again

If your lookin for the Holliday Inn on the mountain this isn't it. But if you want a place to sleep and close the the parks with good food and nice folks this is it. I've stayed at many mountain inn all over Wyoming & Montana and this is as food as any. The bath is a little tight but no worse then the first house the wife and I rented for 5 years.

Our stay was very brief (arriving at 11 pm the previous night and leaving by 7 am the following morning), and we found the room (#6) to be smaller than we had imagined. There wasn't a table to keep our phones on. Also, the rooms were clean. The caretaker left the AC on so when we arrived, it was very chilly. Overall, it's a nice location to visit the nearby national parks, and thats what mattered to us.

The restuarant and patio was convenient dinner spot. Staff was friendly and helpful and happy hour options between 5-6pm were a nice bonus. Rooms were small, but clean and air conditioned.

I stayed in a cabin/shed, which was a step up from camping! The bed was comfortable and it had an air conditioner and television, which both worked well. It was fine for the single night but I would do the regular room with attached bathroom if I were to stay longer.
