Good location. Bed was very comfortable. Special room a view of cathedral was 90% blocked by trees. Sink drain was plugged w hair.

When we arrived at reception we were greeted by a lovely lady called Teresa, she was friendly and helpful, she upgraded our room which was lovely of her, the place was lovely, clean, and smelt great. The touches to our room were very much appreciated, stocked mini fridge, coffee machine, large TV and the biggest bed I've ever stayed in.

We had such a lovely time. All the staff were so friendly and it felt like they went above and beyond for us. A very special place to stay!

My second time staying here. I absolutely love the grounds, that's the main attraction to this hotel. I stayed in the grange and the room was ok. Functional but tired and tatty in places. My bed wasn't fit for purpose and I was told by reception they couldn't change the mattress and I would have to put up with it. On my first night I asked for an extra duvet so I could sleep on top then have a cover. I was given a mattress topper, and had to start stripping and remaking my bed at 1am. Not exactly what I expected. Needless to say. Very poor sleep over 2 nights. The bathroom smelled of damp and the floor was disintegrating where water had continually splashed from the bath and shower. Getting in and out of the shower was dangerous. Steep and slippery. The grounds are beautiful, food was very good and waitress Lottie was great. Seems like hotel guests are second to corporate guests and visitors, felt that way to me. I'd love to return here but needs some work first.
