The manager was great at communicating although reception closed at 4pm and we arrived after that to be met with a room that had filthy bathroom and bedroom mirrors like someone had wiped down with dirty clothes. You actually couldn't see yourself in the bathroom mirror, I had to get a cloth and clean.
The carpet (1m2) was soaked next the the bed. I put layers of towels over it it by the morning they were brown with whatever they were soaking up.
The property is very very run down. Toilet door falling apart at the bottom from water damage. Shower mixer broken.
The beds were fine and the gas fire was great.
I am yet to speak to the manager about compensation for the wet floor and condition of the room on arrival but he seems quite reasonable and was apologetic for the water which he didn't know about.
But the property was dirty, old and rundown. The couches and bar/dining chairs are all
Fabric and were filthy with stains and spills. Unfortunately needs a refresh, was probably lovely when first built.
But the location next to peppers was great for an easy dinner at Nineteeen.
It's just disappointing that properties don't maintain and update filthy furniture or sufficiently check their cleaners lack of cleaning skills.
I don't often write reviews but sadly the 'boutique' part of this property is very misleading. But jason the manger was very prompt in responding to issues (although due to no other rooms couldn't move us).
