"Great location in the heart of the vineyards"
The grounds are beautiful and each cabin is nicely secluded from others. We had a beautiful view over the back fields and lake. Only downside was that the walls to the adjoining cabin are paper thin, so you can hear the neighbors conversations or tv shows from your own room. The spa bath too wasn't working.

"Comfortable, beautiful location, stunning views"
I arrived mid week, so it was nice and quiet. I'd booked 2 rooms, one for a family member and her boyfriend and one for me. Mine was upstairs with great view looking into bush land, complete with Kangaroos - a real bonus for my niece visiting from the UK! The room was clean and tidy, spacious and comfortable with a small kitchenette. One somewhat odd feature was the inclusion of a tumble dryer but apparently no washing machine? My niece's villa had a machine and tumble dryer. One of two sliding doors onto my balcony was clearly labeled as "Broken, do not use" which didn't pose any problem but I feel I should mention it. Apart from that, the water for the shower was variable; hot, then cold, seemingly impossible to get it to stay at a comfortable temperature. My niece had the same issue with her shower and we compared our shower timings, in case we both were using showers at the same time but we were not. We enjoyed evening drinks from the bar on the terrace overlooking the pool and golf course which was simply stunning. This was followed by dinner in the ground floor restaurant where we all agreed the food was delicious and good service. Overall, it was a most enjoyable stay and I would probably stay again should I be visiting the Hunter again.

"Enjoyable Stay"
Stayed two nights. Handy location to a lot of wineries. Room clean with a big comfortable bed. Experienced noise from adjoining room but otherwise peaceful surroundings. In room breakfast provided was a good start to the day. Restaurant on premises was very good with delicious food.

"In need of a refurb!"
The "cabin" was looking a little "worn" in a number of areas. But was comfortable for the three nights we stayed. The swimming pool is much smaller than the impression from the pictures. It was a good base to explore The Hunter Valley from.

The Hunter Valley resort is a little gem of a place. While it may be a bit out of the way for some travelers liking, we enjoyed the relaxed country atmosphere and the activities on offer. The accommodation is slightly run down perhaps, but this added to its charm. Having a brewery onsite was a great bonus, as well as being able to go trail riding without having to drive anywhere. Bed was very comfortable. We had a great stay, even as non-wine drinkers!

"Good hotel but not best value"
We stayed at Mercure to add some luxury to our holiday and admittedly felt slightly let down by the experience, as we went in with high expectations. We were first given a room with two single beds so were moved to a king bed room without fuss from the friendly staff. The room was fairly clean but basic, although the spa was pretty luxurious. The bed was two singles joined together and while this sometimes works, on this occasion where they joined was a lip which made it quite uncomfortable. In the shower, there was a large mildew patch on the roof. The resorts spa was meant to be 38 degrees but did was actually quite cool. Pool was unheated but we enjoyed our swim after a day at Hunter Valley Gardens. Buffet breakfast was very tasty and had every sort of option you could want. Staff were the best part, they were very helpful and friendly!.

Pokolbin is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Pokolbin, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Pokolbin hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
