Nightmare stay, all seemed ok just another hotel until we got woken up a 4.35am with someone coming into our room who the night porter let in. No apology from hotel, they just seemed to think it was ok to let a random stranger into our room Breakfast was awful aswell

Review for two rooms booked on 7th floor. Maybe we were just unlucky but we had some issues. Firstly the bed sheet had a black mould type stain on it. Maybe it was dirt but it looked like mould, and it was just below the pillow level so hardly hidden from view. We remade the bed ourselves with the mouldy bit at the feet end, but that was not ideal. Secondly in the morning there was no water at all in the room. Our family in the room next door had the same problem so we called reception for ages but nobody picked up. Eventually we got dressed and went down to reception to complain and it turned out that the entire 6th & 7th floors were without water. There were no rooms that we could use to shower, or brush our teeth or anything. While we waited for maintenance, we had our breakfast (£13 each) which was below average quality. All four coffee machines were faulty or needed attention, the hot food was like warm and by the time I waited for the fried eggs my plate of food was cold. While we were at breakfast the water was fixed but by the time we checked out we were very late getting to where we needed to be. On a positive, the staff were all friendly and helpful as best as they could be, especially at check-in and breakfast. The hotel is in a good location and was generally clean and tidy. The room was clean (except for the sheet) and fairly noise free over night.

Stuffy room, poor air con and smelt of cigarettes, window locked and did not open at all. Could not breathe properly so could not sleep. Public toilet on ground floor in shocking state I won’t describe.

Hotel looked fine , but had no water in morning for brushing teeth and washing . At breakfast my wife asked for poached eggs , after 30 minutes they still had not come . We had to leave as we had an appointment . Also at break we had trouble getting bacon and sausage . People also using gluten free toaster with ordinary bread . So over all breakfast did not happen .

I have stayed here before and it is one of the few hotels in Plymouth that has air-conditioning in the bedrooms, a hairdryer and iron. There are also flavored water and apples available in the lobby every day for guests. The staff is always lovely. It is very close to the mall, food and the Barbican. The restaurant is good and has a very cheerful bar area after a long, rainy day.

was unable to eat in the restaurant on any of my three nights as i was told there was no chance .I chose this hotel as it was advertised you had a great restaurant. So we had to eat in the bar where there was just one lady run off her feet doing the best she could. To top it all they did not have any steak dishes on the Saturday night and there would not not be any on Sunday because they could not be delivered. Very disappointed.

I stay at this hotel regularly, it is clean and very close to the Barbican and sea front. However it is getting much more expensive, and the facilities are just tired, broken shelf in the room, soap dispenser hanging off the wall, a loo that took 5 attempts to flush etc. The door restrictors are all worn out, doors slam violently and there's no sleeping after the first of the early birds leave their room. Even the uniforms for the very friendly reception staff look well worn to say the least. On this trip the towels smelled vaguely of chips!! Time for a refresh!!
