Very good apartment in excellent location. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well fitted. It’s good to have the reception manned 24 hours. I shall go again.

We found the staff friendly, helpful and efficient. The food was good and plentiful. The rooms, at least ours, have been modernised but are on the small side; offering little space to relax when not out, dining or sleeping. This is not helped by the lack of comfortable furniture on which to relax in the public area (emphasis on the 'pub'). This is at odds with the description on Expedia, which refers to "Bar and Lounge" unless I missed it during our 4 night stay! The picture of the outside of the Plough is also rather flattering compared to the reality (It needs a fresh coat of paint)! During a phone call with the Plough prior to our visit I was warned about the steep staircase but there is no warning about this on the Expedia site. My 90 year old sister managed but it was a challenge! My main disappointment was the broken window blind in my sister's room. This was not repaired during our stay despite efforts by the excellent staff. My heart dropped when management advised(through a staff member) that "a new part would arrive tomorrow" It didn't!! I never saw management and there was no gesture made in compensation, not even a personal apology. So, if all you want to do is eat, drink and sleep and you are fully mobile then you will enjoy the Plough, as long as nothing goes wrong that the staff cannot remedy!

First impressions were very good and the room I stayed in looked impressive however, there were many issues inside the room from, TV would not switch on, the kettle did not work at all when I came to use it on the morning. Some of the lighting didn't work, the room seemed to be next to a generator which was very loud and then I overheard some people trying to check in but their keys were missing. They knocked on the door to their room to find another guest staying in their room. They said their key was also missing so they just took what was available from the key safe. Everything felt like a bit of a shambles and for the price I paid I feel it was absolutely not value for money. Would not stay here again!!!

Dining room restaurant chairs stained and dirty carpet dirty and beyond cleaning timber floors need sanding snd polishing understaffed Staff very friendly and helpful Television not tuned overall the hotel needs preventative maintenance very noisy facing canal could not recommend this facility one of the worst premier inn hotels I have visited
