"Cheap & convenient, HGV parking included in price"
I stayed here with my truck on my way back to Nottingham from Glasgow. I paid £45 and got a good night's sleep, which is what it's all about really. Good points: 1 minute off the M74 Parking (£24 on its own) included in the £45 room price Friendly, helpful receptionist Comfortable bed Huge, clean, powerful shower Bad points: Room smelled of mould No pub / restaurant on site, fast food only

"A chance to stay in a stately home"
I arrived late evening and was immediately welcomed into the incredibly impressive hotel, although it was late I was offered an evening meal. My room was very large and decorated to a high standard. Dinner was fantastic and served in one of the many large rooms on the ground floor. As I was leaving early in the morning for business, I was provided with a fine selection of pastries, fruit and cereal as a breakfast.

"Our favourite place we stayed in Scotland"
We got in at about 7pm and showed to our room which was 2 single beds in the room ( our fault, we booked that room online) then the lovely lady upgraded us to a large room with queen bed. Room was large, nice bed & good shower ensuite. Had a walk around the village and then back to the Grapes for dinner. The food was fantastic. Absolutely the best steak have ever had and the service was very quick and friendly. Got to know the staff and locals with after dinner drinks etc and had a great time with them. Wanting to know all the local history we were told we must ask Pete the owner when he returns as he has vast knowledge of the borders and Newcastleton. We got talking with Pete and the locals regarding family names, history & the Revier trail. We have family history from this area and are very interested. Had a great night and next morning over the beautiful Scottish breakfast Pete came up to the dinning room shook our hands and bid us well on our journey. The friendliness and genuine help and service we got from here is 10/10. We left feeling like family.

"Stopover on the way to Scotland "
Stayed here en route to Scotland and to visit Cathedral: room clean, comfortable and quiet. Has car park behind hotel but had to drive around twice as not immediately obvious; just take the 1st right after you see the hotel on the main road and keep right. Although this is a pay & display car park, your car is covered once you register with reception .

"Overnight stay"
We stayed at Gretna Hall for the second time within a month. Unfortunately we were en-route to a funeral. The hotel is in the process of being undated and since the first visit you can see a difference in reception. The furniture in our room was dated, but hopefully in the process of updating it will improve. Breakfast - there was a great variety to meet every ones needs. My only criticism would be the fried eggs were piled on top of one another consequently the yolks were burst.

"ok for short stay "
Staff were very nice, rooms are fine could do with a little bit of an upgrade in the bathrooms, room very, very hot even with window open I know this was due to hot weather so not really a problem the hotel can help also the rooms would benefit from black out curtains as the room being very bright at 6.30am on a Saturday morning isn't the best wake up! Didn't eat or drink in hotel just used as a base a can't comment on any of the facilities

Newcastleton is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Newcastleton, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Newcastleton hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
