Second time here for a European layover to the West Coast. Like the free shuttle to real downtown instead of stranded near the airport. Whole Foods five min. walk away from the Tryp!

This was a nice find within quick walking to NJ Penn Station which saves you 10$ on the Path if you don't take it from the airport. The room was clean but very empty. Desk staff were fine but not very friendly or engaging. I've been in enough hotels to know it wasn't just a NYC/NJ thing. There were hotels near the airport for the same price, so this was less convenient if you're flying out. Great if you're heading to the borrows. Near to a Starbucks, a Whole Foods and shopping. Right by Military Park.

There was a booking error/misunderstanding? Causing a prolonged check in. The issue being Expedia booked the rooms with different names in the group, instead of under one name. I was told they only received payment for one room and that I needed to call Expedia. I showed my confirmation of two paid rooms, and even after that I was still told to call. I’m figuring this is now an issue with the hotel and Expedia. Why am I to sort this? I paid and they need to figure out where the rest of their money is. Well no. I called because it was “my problem”. Expedia did call and was able to clarify and resolve the issue. The receptionist then laughed at the misunderstanding like it was a joke, in stead of being apologetic about the misunderstanding. Not quite in a joking mood when my customer service support was Shuttle said it ran every half hour from the hotel to the station. When I used the free shuttle to the station, I was told by the driver that when we returned we could call and get picked up anytime. I called when I returned only to be told the shuttle only goes every hour. That was that. So we paid for a $25 Uber ride. Guest in the room with an adjoining door to mine, were being so loud and obnoxious at 3am. I tried to call the front desk and no one answered. I stayed on the phone for a solid 3 minutes. I called twice. No answer. So as a female I knocked on the room door to be met by a male. Sketch. Luckily, they were not and were respectful and were quiet after that.
