We stayed at several IHG hotels during our trip and generally had very good experiences. However, our last night at the Holiday Inn Express Newark Airport was disappointing.
Our room (122) was located next to the elevators, an entrance, and vending machines, which made it quite noisy throughout the night. The window also faced the parking lot, so we could hear conversations outside. Even with the AC running and some white noise, it was difficult to get proper rest before our flight.
In addition, the carpet felt damp, which was uncomfortable.
Overall, the hotel has potential, but this particular room location and condition did not provide the quiet, comfortable stay we were hoping for.
