"More like 7*'s........"
Had an unbelievable experience at this boutique hotel in Hazyview. Staff were amazing, setting was stunning and the food at the attached Kuka restaurant was outstanding. Really couldnt fault it in any aspect. The town itself is a sleepy town but there is still plenty to do in the surrounding areas, with easy access to Gods Window, Bythe River Canyon & the wonderful Kruger park.

"Very satisfied about this ideal base"
Stayed at Hippo Hollow while exploring Kruger and the Panoramic Route by car. The room was very comfortable, the location was easy to find and convenient, and the food was surprisingly good at the restaurant, especially the breakfast. The hotel does get large tour buses, and we found some of the tour group customers disruptive a few times during our stay, but that was not the fault of the hotel. There really are hippos on the property! There is also a nice gift shop on the premises.

"Great location but poor service"
We arrive at Kruger Park Lodge late at night and for one night only - a stopover before safari. It is a great location and great set up with cottages that are clearly timeshare, weekly rentals and the odd stopover guest. The site is very secure and with a golf course, swimming pool, great kids play area and wild animals on view from the edges of the resort - it is an idyllic setting. The main let down for us, were the staff, who weren't exactly welcoming and also did the minimum to make you feel comfortable. Simple things like showing you to the lodge and explaining the facilities, timings for meals, what's included and what's not etc etc Instead we were drawn a map, and in the dark, told to find the cottage. It strikes me that if you're a one night visitor they don't know how to accommodate you, as they are predominantly set up for timeshare (minimal) support

"Hazyview's Hidden Secret!"
I had the pleasure of staying at Chestnut during my trip to Kruger National Park. Overlooking a beautiful vista, the lodge is very well-appointed with clean, spacious, comfortable rooms and super friendly staff. The 3-course dinner on offer was delicious, and the owner even made sure I had breakfast arrangements for my early departure at 5:00. I highly recommend Chestnut Country Lodge to anybody visiting the KNP.

"great accommodations and food available"
The lodge is a little difficult to find but they are very helpful in providing directions. Accommodations are beautiful but the owners and staff are well worth the stay. They help plan activities and best way to spend your days in the area, they provided a packed breakfast if you depart early and the dinner available is equivalent to top restaurants I've experienced around the world.

Mpumalanga is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Mpumalanga, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Mpumalanga hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
